-----A huge collection of interesting patchwork design blocks-----, March 6, 2011
This review is from: One Thousand and One Patchwork Designs (Paperback)
This is one of the first books about quilting that I purchased. I've gone through it dozens of times and count it as one of the most fascinating books in my collection of quilting books. Yes, there are actually 1001 different patchwork squares pictured in the book. There's also an index in the back telling you what page each design is on. Many of the names and designs are quite unique. For instance, Ombre, Grandmother's Cross, Eagle, Alaska Homestead, Dutch Waterways, Jack's Blocks, Easy Do, Sunny Lanes, Frame, Arrowheads, Springfield and Battle of the Alamo are just a few of the many styles that got my attention.
Most of the content in the book are the blocks pictured. Starting with one and two patch designs going up the ladder to nine patch, hexagrams, circles, diamonds and stars. There are also small chapters on Determining Quilt Size, Fabric Requirements, Quilting and Assembling the Quilt Top.
I believe that any patchwork quilter would love using this book. It's really a great book!
