About the Author
Sabine Praml completed her studies to become a teacher and is today active as an editor at a children's book publisher in Hamburg.

Sophie Schmid was born and studied painting in Munich. Since 1995 she has worked as an illustrator. In addition, she runs a workshop for commercial artists and teaches drawing in Munich.

I bought this book for my two year old daughter and she has loved it right from the first reading. The repetitive "all together now - one, two, three, pull!" now is chanted by her when we read it. The lovely drawings add to the charm of the story and on every page there is something new to be discovered (the little bird cheering, the little mouse building a house of straw on one page on which the dog steps inadvertently on the next page etc.). The story in short - a hen tries to pull a worm out of the ground and does not succeed. So a rabbit, a pig, a dog, a cow and a horse come to the aid, but when the worm finally comes out of the ground, they all tumble and the worm slips back into the ground.

Before buying this book, I rented it from our local library. After reading it once to my child, I knew I needed to add it to our collection. It kept my 3 year old childs attention even after reading it the third time. She was laughing, and saying, "One, two, three, pull!" along with me. It was so fun! The repetiton is excellent which children like and can remember. The pictures are colorful. It's also great that it's a board book so every age can enjoy it. I highly recomend this book!
