5.0 out of 5 stars Best Deal Around!
I ran out before my insurance would cover a new supply. Locally, at every possible outlet--including the ultra-bargain places---the cost was significantly higher. The deal was also better than anything else I could find online. My only complaint is that it took longer to receive than I expected.

3.0 out of 5 stars Possibly Miscoded, September 11, 2009

This review is from: One Touch Ultra Blue Mail Order Test Strips, 50 CT (Health and Beauty)
I have used this brand for a couple of years and have purchased them both from the pharmacy (covered by Medicare, now) and from Amazon (from a different merchant). My first purchase from Amazon was entirely satisfactory and I am giving the test strips a three star rating because of a problem with the last strips I ordered. They must have been miscoded or damaged by the summer heat while in transit; they consistently gave readings (on the same meter at the same time) 10 to 20 or more points higher than the strips from the local pharmacy-and yes, I correctly coded the meter when I changed strips. Since I have type 2 diabetes, I went ahead and used them, with the understanding that the readings were high. This could cause a serious problem with someone with insulin, however. I hesitated to give these a lowered rating, but feel that this is an issue that purchasers should be aware of.

I received this product in a timely manner. It was exactly what I ordered and significantly less expensive than purchasing from the local pharmacy.

I can't believe how I wasted so much time and money in other brands. This brand is outstanding! The meters are more reliable (I did my own study comparing this and other brands to lab results) and they have better support. Their website is really cool, with recipes, free ebooks, excersising guides and so many other things that I encourage you to visit it. I'm just delighted with my product. I have two meters of them and their software to download the information to the computer. It's great!
This lancets are very affordable and easy to handle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great test strips, October 26, 2009

I use the One Touch Ultra test strips in a research environment to diagnose diabetes in rats. We go through a huge amount of these strips over time and they have always performed excellently. We have a clinical assay for glucose measurement and the glucose values from the strips correlate quite nicely with the assay. Both the strips and glucometer are very easy to use and I would highly reccommend them to anyone.

1.0 out of 5 stars Almost expired, 1 container open, June 12, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: One Touch Ultra Blue Mail Order Test Strips, 50 CT (Health and Beauty)
Have bought One Touch strips from Amazon suppliers before and have been very satisfied, but this last purchase from Deep Discount Center arrived with one container open and contaminated. The rest of the containers were almost expired. They will be expired before I can use them. I won't purchase from this supplier again.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: One Touch Ultra Blue Mail Order Test Strips, 50 CT (Health and Beauty)
i purchased these strips one time before and was pleased with the results but the expiration dates were about a year away but this time when i purchased these strips i received a letter that stated the expiration date was about three months away and that was the reason i was getting a discount rate on this purchase. i knew this possibility existed from reading past reviews that is why i purchased such a limited quantity but the letter made it seem like i should expect nearly expired test strips in the future. with that being said my results seem to be about 20 point higher on this batch of strips so now im going to my local store to buy strips to make sure these strips are accurate. i leave it up to you guys to decide for yourself i saw reviews similiar to this when i purchased mine and decided to proceed. if my new strips bring the results im looking for i believe i will move on from these strips.

3.0 out of 5 stars Price Fluctuates Constantly But Better Than Buying Local, January 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: One Touch Ultra Blue Mail Order Test Strips, 50 CT (Health and Beauty)
According to LA Times columnist David Lazarus [...]the cost to manufacture these strips is about ten cents so even with the discounts here, they're way overpriced. Amazon is the cheapest supplier I've found but if you follow these over time the price seems to vary monthly by as much as ten dollars from the same supplier. In January 2011, the 50ct were 30.99, in Dec 24.68, and in Nov 34.99.

The strips themselves are no different from what you buy in a store. They seem to all be coded at 25. One thing about the One Touch Ultra strips are that if you do not get enough blood on the strip or if you get distracted and don't add blood before the meter turns off, you'll get an error and will have to use another strip. I've heard that with some strips, this isn't the case.
