Another Solid Winner,
This review is from: One Tough Cookie (Paperback)
After enjoying Hansen's first book Murder Honey, I read a suspiciously bitter "attack" review. Tellingly, the same "reviewer" submitted another "attack" review for Hansen's second book One Tough Cookie (without reference to any specific's) the very same day! Clearly, this "reviewer" has some personal issue with the author and has not read anything by her. One Tough Cookie is an even better read than Hansen's first mystery. In One Tough Cookie her heroine, Carol Sabala, pursues answers surrounding the death of a pregnant high school student. There are lots of witty observations about teens and schools that are as relevant today as they were in the 1990's when the book is set. I have often been dissatisfied by "fantastic" plot twists so I particularly enjoyed the less convoluted, more traditional who-done-it plot line of One Tough Cookie. Good job, Hansen! As for the "bitter reviewer" Bryan, let's hope he gets the therapy he so obviously needs!

Very entertaining read,
This review is from: One Tough Cookie (Paperback)
One Tough Cookie was lot's of fun to read. Dialogue and action in the book are excellent and Vinnie draws her characters well. I especially enjoy her literary references which add humor to the book: for example, Carol Sabala, Hansen's baker PI wanna-be seems always aware of food or her lack of it. In one instance Carol says, "My little gray cells needed sustenance," a line that works for Carol, but made me smile thinking of Hercule Poirot.

don't waste your money,

I read a lot of mysteries, and to be honest, its a mystery to me how this book got published. I don't want to be cruel, but in fairness to readers who may waste there money, I have to be honest. I found this book to be totally lame and not at all up to the standards that I'm used to for even the most mediocre mysteries. Don't waste your money.
