Editorial Reviews

In season one, we are introduced to the residents of Tree Hill. In a small North Carolina town, two estranged half brothers carry on very different lives. Basketball prodigy Nathan Scott has inherited the throne of high school popularity once held by his father, Dan, while Lucas Scott, also a talented player, stays an outsider. Spending nights shooting hoops on a riverfront court, Lucas remains the son Dan never acknowledged. Now, Lucas' and Nathan's paths intersect for the first time, and in the middle of the crossroads stands Peyton Sawyer, Nathan's beautiful, edgy girlfriend who just may have more in common with Lucas. Throw in the quiet animosity between Dan and his brother, Keith, along with Lucas' mother, Karen--all of whom must cope with the aftermath of their choices--and something has to give. As Season Two unfolds, we see relationships change and characters evolve: Aside from their love for hoops, Lucas and Nathan seemed to have little in common. But the two young men are bound by the fact that they share the same father. As Nathan is increasingly brought into the world Lucas knew before he joined the high school team, the two boys begin acting like brothers, not enemies, for the first time. Years in the making, a deep and bitter conflict had slowly unfolded as the two boys struggled to come to terms with a father who chose to live vicariously through one son while ignoring the existence of the other. Now, Nathan and Lucas have formed a unique bond based on mutual resentment of their father. Meanwhile, the girls of Tree Hill explore their own interests beyond romantic entanglements.

I definately recommend buying it, I also have the third series and am gutted that I'll have to wait ages before the 4th series is even shown over here!

I have watched the series since it started, but there were some episodes that I missed, so it was great to see it all in order with no commericals.

When I first saw previews for this show, I just wasn't really that interested for some reason, but I watched it one evening about 1/2 way through Season 1 and was hooked. There are things in the show that disturb me though such as basically no parental supervision for these teenagers. One of the couples is married(they are supposedly 17 yrs old and married!!) The only one who has any rules is Lucas Scott(Chad Michael Murray). The premise of the show is that Lucas's Mom got pregnant as a senior in high school and her boyfriend, Dan Scott went off to college on a basketball scholarship.

Deb met Dan during Freshman orientation - one month after Karen told Dan she was pregnant.

When Dan's dream of a basketball career didn't work out, he returned to town with the wife he met in college and his new son, Nathan. Needless to say, it makes an awkward situation. What I like about this show is that it is a little bit different from other teeny-bopper shows(which I generally do like) I really like the romance between Lucas(Chad Michael Murray) and Brooke (Sophia Bush) although I wish they were still together in real life. Rumor has it he cheated with Paris Hilton. That makes me sick. Yuck.

As your reading this you're probably already half way to buying it and need a second opinion about it so here goes....

Coming from England I'd never managed to watch a whole series of One Tree Hill but had always enjoyed the episodes I'd seen, when I saw these box sets I decided it was about time to indulge myself!

The series has enough drama to keep you interested but enough romance and comedy to keep it light hearted and not be too intense. The storylines are interesting and I particularly enjoyed the fact that Lucas' and Hayleys relationship never had a Joey and Dawson vibe as to 'will they or won't they get together' The way that Lucas' and Nathans friendship changes is great - you'll wonder if they'll ever work things out for good.

All in all it's a brilliant show and not afraid to confront more grown up storylines than others, it's not just about high school romance.

I definately recommend buying it, I also have the third series and am gutted that I'll have to wait ages before the 4th series is even shown over here!

I was a bit skeptic about a TV series revolving around high school drama, thinking it'd just be another teen series. These 2 seasons of One Tree Hill offer so much more. Anyone can relate to the characters and the situations that they bring up.

You watch the healthy and unhealthy ways of dealing with issues as well as the consequences of each and every decision. This show is great and most of my friends are hooked on it too, so it's great to all just chill and watch something that we all enjoy. It wouldn't be so great to watch without some terrific acting though so my kudos goes to all the characters that make it happen.

I absolutely love One Tree Hill. I am an avid watcher... every wednesday at nine... I would recomend this series to anyone who is just interested. You wont be disapointed. The serious keeps you on your feet and makes you want to watch more. Its very much like a drug! Nathan and Lucas are so good in the show... they evolve from enemies to brothers... its fantastic. Not to mention that the boys are only about the Hottest! I love Peyton and Brooke, you will find some one in the series that you can relate to!

I didn't think this would be so good - seemed a little young for me - I am a bit over 40 - But I love it - I am half way through the second season and am completly hooked on this series. It is not sappy, it is very well acted and written with very believable characters. It centers around the families as well as the students. Wonderful show and great story line.

I have watched the series since it started, but there were some episodes that I missed, so it was great to see it all in order with no commericals. I love the additional footage and the behind the scenes features. I could not be happier with my complete two seasons of One Tree Hill.
