Eva Marie Everson is the author of True Love: Engaging Stories of Real-Life Proposals (Promise Press, August 2000). She is also a speaker and teacher on a variety of subjects designed to help people develop intimate relationships with God. Eva Marie is the co-author of Pinches of Salt, Prisms of Light and a contributing author to a number of publications, including: Stories from the Extreme Teen's Heart, Seasons of a Woman's Heart, God's Abundance for Women, More God's Abundance, among others. Eva Marie and her husband have three children and live in Florida.

More About the Author

I was born and reared just outside of Savannah, Georgia. Yeah, I have a southern accent. It gets a little more southern every time I cross the Florida/Georgia state line.

If I had all the time in the world, I'd probably lie on the sofa all day and watch old movies. I usually have to get sick for something even close to that happening.

I can quote entirely too many lines from Pretty Woman (You do? You think I've got potential?). In fact, I quote lines from movies and songs so often that most people are unaware of what I'm doing. I may or may not have offended some folks. If I have...I'm sorry.

I'm an ex-nurse and a seminary graduate. I hated nursing but love God with a passion and can hardly get through a conversation without talking about our relationship! I think the Old Testament is totally FUN to read (I mean, HOW much stuff can one clan of people get in to?) and the New Testament draws me closer to Heaven. Yeah!

I'm married even though my hubby had to have his wedding band cut off due to an infected spider bite. The nurse said either that or the finger would fall off. I was going for the second option, but was alone in that. :) Now he wears it on his right hand. I can live with that. We have kids and grandkids and two absolutely adorable dogs, Hope and Poodar.

I'm rarely still and I sleep very little.

Life is good.

We didn't realize the emotional impact that, "One True Vow" would have on us until we read it. We both cried. Eva wrote our story about my long term illness, just as if she'd been living here with us. We've truly been so blessed throughout the long, hard haul that it almost seems a dream that it's been so long. God has erased so many bad memories, but through it all, we hung onto Him. He was our source, as I'm sure he was each and everyone elses in, "One True Vow."

I'm so blessed that my husband took, "in sickness and in health serious." He's upheld our vows.

An excellent encourager to those doubting what God can do in their marriage. It should all start from the wedding day and meaning the vows we repeat to one another. Great gift for those intending to marry.

After 29 years of marriage, 8 kids and 2 grandkids, we know we'd have never made it without Him. Read this book and rejoice in the miracle of a marriage replete with the presence and grace of God. Don't settle for I Do when you can have Happily Ever After.

Are you wondering if you're ready for marriage?

Then you should check out this book. It is filled with such incredible stories (real-life accounts) of commitment and hope, and faith and love, when couples face adversity in their relationships.

What a blessing it was to read. Yes, there is hope -- the stories in this book clearly illustrate this fact.
