3.0 out of 5 stars There's no other word but AMAZING!
This is the first book I ever read by Karen Kingsbury. Actually, it was the cover that caught my eye but even as I gazed at the picture of the twin towers, I thought to myself, "I....don't know about reading something on this order." I am SO glad I took the plunge because I found out well-written Christian Fiction is the best! Here's a tip. Make sure you have "Beyond...

(REAL NAME)
Jake Bryan is a firefighter with the FDNY, the only thing he has ever wanted to do. His Christian faith gives him the strength to get through each day, both on the job and at home. His wife Jamie has run from God most of her life. After a tragic childhood, she doesn't believe God would want anything to do with her or her failures. She worries constantly about Jake and his safety. The two have a daughter, Sierra, who is the light of their lives. Jake has been praying for God to make a statement in Jamie's life to bring her to know Him.

Eric Michaels is a businessman striving for success at any cost. And his greatest cost is his family. He has slowly shut out his wife and young son. His wife is at the end of her rope. When Eric returns from his business trip to New York, she is not sure whether she can continue marriage with him or not.

These men meet in the stairwell of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. The tower collapses and only one survives, burned and suffering from amnesia. Jake's supervisor recognizes the man as Jake, but is it really him? Jamie works with him to re-gain his lost memory, and in the process learns about God and her husband through his Bible and journals. Which man survived the disaster? Can God redeem even those who seem completely lost?

I was touched by this fictionalized account of the calamity that affects us all. Ms. Kingsbury states that it was her way of working through the grief, and I am glad she wrote this book. The characters are very true to life, seeking God's will as well as running from it. Eric and Jamie go through tremendous transformation as God becomes real to both of them. It would be difficult to finish this novel and remain closed about God's hand in our lives.

I highly recommend ONE TUESDAY MORNING. It isn't a book that can be read all in one sitting. It takes time to experience, especially the scenes that take place on September 11. I felt as if I was right there with the characters in the book. For an emotional, yet uplifting look at God's everlasting love and mercy in our lives, ONE TUESDAY MORNING is not to be missed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Moving -- Especially for those who have been there., April 13, 2005
I cannot possibly recommend this novel highly enough! Kingsley's work reminds us again what it is to be human.

On the morning of 9/11 I, like the rest of the country, sat is absolute horror and shock, watching the events in NY unfold on television. I thought instantly of a dear friend who daily stopped at one of the towers for coffee and a bagel before taking the train into the city. Where was my dear friend that day? As the towers fell, I feared he was somewhere at the bottom of that smoking pile of rubble and I wouldn't get the chance to tell him one more time how very treasured his friendship is to me and how dearly I love him.

The emotions of the women in this novel were so true to what I experienced for 3 days until I finally got a phone line into Brooklyn to check on my friend and heard his voice on the other end, that I cried through most of this book. I could relate to the fear of the unknown and how essential prayer and my faith was to me then and continues to be today. Thankfully my dear friend was alive and well, but for so many whose story had a different ending, the pain continues.

This novel reminds us that, regardless of ethnicity or color of skin, we are all of one race -- human -- and we all bleed, laugh, cry, and love. What a spectacular novel this one is!

Actually, I would give it 10 stars!!!! This is the first Kingsbury book I've read. Couldn't put it down. Smiled, laughed, cried a lot. Very believable characters. Very touching scenes. Her descriptions of the persons involved in this story make you wonder if this is not fiction, but real. I fell in love with the characters. I was convicted in my spirit when the characters rededicated their lives to God.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Subject Close to Home, October 10, 2005
Karen Kingsbury does an outstanding job of telling a story revolving around the events that happened on

September 11,2001. Instead of focusing on the "political" issues, she weaves a story of three families "before and after". She makes you keenly aware of the "fine line" between what is and what can be. You will hug your loved one just a bit longer and be thankful for every day that you are together. A must read!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read That Will Captivate You, June 11, 2004
This is the first book I've read by the author, and I will read anything else by her I can find. Kingsbury weaves a story that deals with love and commitment, using the September 11 tragedy as a background. You will understand the power of faith and love even more after reading this book, and how really good things can come out of the worst situations. You will have trouble putting it down once you get into it.

Make sure you have "Beyond Tuesday Morning" waiting in the wings for you'll kick yourself if you don't.

I am now an avid reader of Ms. Kingsbury's work and have a whole shelf dedicated just to her in my own personal library. All I have to do is see her name on a book and it's mine. It is so great to be able to say that about an author, isn't it?

"Oceans Apart" and the "Redemption" series would be my next recommendations to a new Kingsbury fan.

PS I GAVE THIS BOOK 5 STARS BUT THE COUNTER SLIPPED AND I COULD NOT EDIT IT! WHAT A BUMMER.

5.0 out of 5 stars One Tuesday Morning, August 15, 2006
Karen Kingsbury's finest. One Tuesday Morning swept me away on a tide of emotions. Karen crafts a beautiful love story amid the horror of 911. One minute I found myself weeping and then smiling. Gut wrenching at times, this love story is told so well that I couldn't put the book down. Karen's characters are real and well fleshed out. Throughout the book God's faithfulness shines through. I highly recommend One Tuesday Morning.

5.0 out of 5 stars My review on "One Tuesday Morning", December 13, 2005
A Kid's Review
"One Tuesday Morning", written by Karen Kingsbury, is an exciting book about the recent terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. This book is about two couples who live their lives differently.

Jake and Jamie Bryan are a couple who live in Manhattan. Jake is a firefighter who went to fight the fires at the World Trade Center after the plane crash. Jake is a strong believer but Jamie does not have any interest with church. They have a little girl named Sierra who loves to go to church.

Eric and Laura Michaels live in San Fernando Valley. Laura goes to church but Eric is too busy to do anything with his family because of his job. They have a son named Josh. Laura and Eric were going to have a baby girl but she died. Since her death, Eric doesn't want to belive in God because he felt God took away their baby.

On September 11, 2001 Eric was in New York City at the World Trade Center when the attacks happened. As a firefighter, Jake was called into the buildings after the attacks. The story continues with the events that would bring the Bryan and Michael families together.

This book was very enjoyable to read because it combined drama and suspense with historical facts. The author relates how two families' lives are changed forever due to one tragic event. As you read this book, tears will be shed as you relate to how families may feel during the loss of someone very close and special. This book shows the heroism displayed by the many people affected by the September 11th tragedy.

5.0 out of 5 stars A heartfelt remembrance of 9/11, July 13, 2004
By A Customer
Having been to the world trade centers and seen the hundreds that flocked to and from it, I was particularly drawn to this story.

The news media failed in comparison to Kingsbury's account of the tribulation that faces two families caught in the middle of the 9/11 tragedy.

I cried from the beginning to the end, but never once regretted the decision to pick up the book. Kingsbury doesn't only give you a look inside
what occured in the building on that fateful morning, but into the lives of a handful of individuals as well.

What an amazing journey both emotionally and spiritually for every person involved. Don't miss this one....
