5.0 out of 5 stars Paul Conroy is an idiot!!!, March 2, 2006
This review is from: One With the Underdogs (Audio CD)
(...)Every so called "hardcore" band you listed is nothing but metal, or metal-core (...). Anyway, this is real hardcore, even if you don't like the whole tough guy attitude these guys carry, the songs have a very positive feel( as do the lyrics, read between the lines people). It has the sing alongs, the breakdowns( for all you mosher kids) and the hooks to make up a very real hardcore release. If you get the chance, see them live, awsome show. Really nice guys too. A great album from a great bunch of guys who try( and succeed) to pay tribute to the bands before them, while paving a path for the new generation of hardcore.

5.0 out of 5 stars If You Don't Know, Don't Talk, November 20, 2005
This review is from: One With the Underdogs (Audio CD)
Terror is one band who can say that they keep hardcore true. One With the Underdogs brings an oldskool feel that brings you back to the glory days of hardcore, before we saw the rise of fashion bullsh*t overtake the scene. Before all the new 'hardcore' that sounds more like emo-metal than anything good, there were bands like SOIA and Madball doing hardcore right. No make-up, no p*ssy riffs, no girls jeans or hair in the eyes. No entire albums about heartbreak and slit wrists, no crying about life. Terror brings back the true meaning of hardcore. It is supposed to be fast, hard and true. Terror keeps the circle pit open and the fists swinging, your feet dancing and the true meaning of hardcore alive. This ain't about being tough, it's about staying true. And Terror does just that. If you say you like hardcore but hate Terror you're probably convinced that Killswitch Engage is hardcore, and I will dance all over you in the pit. Terror plays hardcore the way it was meant to be played, and will destroy anyone who stands in thier way.

terror far surpasses anything that pro-pain has put out. as a matter of fact, when terror is on at their hardest, pro-pain is just a dot in their rear-view mirror. i give this 5 thumbs up!

2.0 out of 5 stars It's Been Done Before..., May 12, 2005
This review is from: One With the Underdogs (Audio CD)
I am far from being a purist of the metalcore genre, but possibly the stuff that gets old the quickest is "tough guy" hardcore. I mean, it's good when instigators like Hatebreed and Madball do it, but when you have a bunch of followers doing it, it all sounds boring and extremely generic. I have nothing against these guys, as I liked Scott Vogel's old band, Buried Alive, but the "tough guy" hardcore scene is getting extremely boring and stale. It's all the same: breakdowns, lyrics and riffs, it just gets extremely tiring.

Anyways, I first heard of this band, as I support Trustkill records and like many of the bands on this label. However, when I listened to the song "Overcome", it sounded a lot like a Madball song from "Look My Way", along with the song "Keep Your Mouth Shut" and the title track. This band never appealed to me. I give this 2 stars, as I am a nice guy and respect many of the up-and-coming hardcore bands, but I don't recommend this, unless you're a freak of these bands like slayer_dude.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent for hardcore, December 3, 2004
This review is from: One With the Underdogs (Audio CD)
I'm being generous, this deserves more like 2.5 stars.

I have been exposed to plenty of the modern hardocre scene due to the fact that so many hardcore bands tour with metal bans these days. For the most part I can't stand the petention and overall bs image of the hardcore scene. Terror's latest is a decent listen, however. It gets a little tiresome with the hardcore cliches about standing up for yourself and what not, but it's fast and aggressive. Hardcore has been [...] as a result of screamo and "fashioncore" invading it. Most "hardcore" bands today are little more than crappy death metal bands with lots of pointless breakdowns. However, I will admit that if you want about a half hour of rage-filled music, terror works, even if they aren't anything special.
