5.0 out of 5 stars Finally!, September 27, 2007
This review is from: One Voice Media Center Communicator (CD-ROM)
Finnally... voice software that works great right out the box! It was easy to install and worked right away without any training. I have a ton of music on my Meida Center and bought this so I could play songs without having to click through menues or even turn on the TV. You'll need a good microphone, but the software works great. My friends can't belive I can talk to my house! It's like a cell phone, it's one of those things that you'll wonder how you EVER lived without once you've had it a week...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Way to Navigate Content, April 17, 2008

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: One Voice Media Center Communicator (CD-ROM)
I have tried nearly all voice activation and dictation products since the mid-1990's, and I have to say this is the best one I've tried. It installs neatly and quickly with only a couple setup parameters to tweak and you're off and running.

I'm using it with Vista Ultimate x64 MCE, a USB base station wireless linked to a microphone positioned in the center of my home theater. Music and TV navigation are where it really shines. From any location in Media Center you can call up any artist or TV program/channel with one simple command!

The program is also much more stable than others I've tried. No crashes and no heavy overhead on processing power. And the customer service is excellent. I contacted them with a question and they were right back to me with the answer and some additional suggestions.

3.0 out of 5 stars What they don't tell you about Communicator, December 16, 2008
This review is from: One Voice Media Center Communicator (CD-ROM)
One Voice Media Center does understand commands about 97% of the time, which is great. They tell you that you can use a Media Extender, even an XBox...what they don't tell you is that there are only a few commands that will work with the extender. I ended up with moving a computer into my living room so I could use all the commands.
It states, you can walk into your home and say "Kitchen lights on..". What they don't tell you is that you have purchase mControl (a separate software package).
In their videos, they show a guy using a remote with a wireless microphone. Speaking into it for the commands. What they don't tell you is the remote doesn't exist. You MUST purchase a wireless microphone to get anything out of this product (see my review on the LTB-Q-bean that is bundled).
All-in-all, if you like using voice to control media center, this is for you...as long as you don't use a Media Extender.
