My daughter gives it 5 stars -- Ok, so I prefer the Blondie version, but this one's not bad. Definitely more tolerable than some of their other songs that my daughter listens to incessantly.

I didnt exactly like them that much but after hearing this song and watching the video and the reason behind it, I was sold. They were so real and uncut with the video. And the song is a remake but they put their own spin on it, which sounds really good.

Ubiquitous pop band One Direction take on Blondie classic "One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks)" for Comic Relief - Red Nose Day. In all honesty, the song suits the Brit-band perfectly; it plays up to their schmaltzy, tongue-in-cheek sensibilities. Arguably, the boys seem to have more fun here than some of the songs written specifically for themselves. That said, It's not the 'second coming', but plays well to their core base. It is a supplement to their discography, not the main attraction.

I saw them perform this song live at the Brit Awards and plan to purchase a copy of this CD version shortly.

For the record - to clarify some glaring errors in a review posted on here.

The song does not ever mention a boyfriend. It is gender neutral. It goes... "One way or another... I'm gonna get YOU..." If there is any sort of stalker role in all this, it is Debbie Harry or the person singing the song who is doing so.

Again, it is totally and 100% gender neutral. Check the lyrics out some time. No boyfriend or girlfriend is ever mentioned, just a singer who happens to be female singing perhaps of being infatuated (or out for revenge) with someone and following them around like a stalker.

The concept works equally well if you switch genders.

AND For all the listener knows Debbie Harry could be singing about another woman, perhaps even one she is jealous of or a woman who has stolen away a guy she liked. This song, like many others - is wide open to interpretation by the listener. Certainly the song works equally well for a male singer.

And how can anyone seriously suggest that the young men in this band have not had to deal with the odd stalker type. Give me a break. One of them even dated someone who was "never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever going to get back together" again... And then she followed the band to The Brit Awards a month or so later... LOL

This is a redo of the original song. The boys sound great singing it..They are so talented! But if thats not enough to make you want to buy the single, ALL the money goes to Comic Relief, a charity that gives to children in Ghana, helping them get shots. Also, One Direction donated the money they would have used on a music video to Comic Relief :D

I bought this for y 5 year old who LOVES One Direction. She tells me that this song IS AWESOME! So, there you have it. I don't mind it either. She likes all of the One Direction songs and I would rather her go this way than Justin Beiber.... :)
