disappointed, November 22, 2008
This review is from: One West Waikiki (DVD)
I am another fan of this show that is extremely disappointed that it's release has been canceled. There are many, many others far worse than this one that are available. The chemistry between the always gorgeous Cheryl Ladd and Richard Burghi, coupled with the beautiful Hawaiin scenery, made it worth watching. Hopefully, the studios will change their minds and make us One West Waikiki fans happy!

Disappointed I can't buy this, July 29, 2008
This review is from: One West Waikiki (DVD)
I remember this show when it came out and I loved it then and as a huge Richard Burgi fan would have snapped this up in a heartbeat.
I do hope that the decision not to bring it out is reversed and that all the episodes are released; it was a lot of fun and RB and CL had a great snarky relationship.

Waiting for nothing, July 28, 2008
This review is from: One West Waikiki (DVD)
OWW may not have been great television for the ages, but it was a delightful guilty pleasure show. Cheryl Ladd had never been more appealing, and Richard Burgi's ne-er do well cop was a perfect foil to her medical examiner character. Burgi's Mack Wolfe was always a surprise and delight to watch. Together they elevated the show above some mediocre scripts, continuity glitches and improbabilities.
Now I've found out that a DVD release was planned for One West Waikiki, I've excitedly come to Amazon to check it out, just to find out that the manufacturer has discontinued it?! Why?
I know a good many people who have been waiting for this series (and the 2-4th seasons of Mr. Burgi's "The Sentinel" to be released on DVD--)having been reduced to bad copies many generations down the VHS line on both series. When bad or pirated copies of a show are all that is available, that is what is going to be acquired by the fans of the show and the actors.
DVD releases on cancelled shows are not cost prohibitive in manufacture. Possibly just another case of a studio not wanting to share any possible profit with the folks who created these shows (and the actors) in the first place?
Disappointed doesn't begin to cover it.
