5.0 out of 5 stars I still Dream of this union Doctor
I read this one second to One wore grey. It is fantastic. The main Hero Jesse is so wonderful you wish he could jump out of the book and become real. 3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good
This book was pretty good, but the main female character was a little annoying. It almost made me think Jesse deserved "someone better", someone who knew why he felt the way he did about fighting for the north. I still wanted to read the second book, and found it better than this one.

I read this one second to One wore grey. It is fantastic. The main Hero Jesse is so wonderful you wish he could jump out of the book and become real. The heroine is full of life and energetic, but dosn't get "Stupid" with all the mess in her world. She sticks to her beliefs and despite herself falls for the man she was destined to be with. The medical side of the story was real and not to gory, Graham lets you really feel who the caracters are and what they are made of thru the windows she creates of their lives. Found it so fullfilling that I recomend it to complete strangers I see everywhere. These storys now have me so hooked that I am reading her other storys now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another success by Graham!, December 2, 1999
This review is from: One Wore Blue (Mass Market Paperback)
A great partner to "and one Wore Gray"! Heather Graham writes incredible romances. Not trashy, but kept me breathless. The men in the story are just dreamy... I hated the book to end! Graham weaves a tale that blends right into the history..from clothing descriptions, to accents. Once again, impossible to put down!

Definitely a keeper. Great story, never a dull moment, lots of love. I agree there's nothing like a good civil war story with love mixed in. And this one is a powerful one to read. Don't pass it up! I am now looking forward to getting
And One Wore Gray!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Series ! ! !, March 25, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: One Wore Blue (Mass Market Paperback)
You have to love historical romances. It is one hot book! And the other 2 are just as good which I know is unusual in a series. But you must read And One Wore Gray, & And One Rode West. The three books are about 2 brothers that are on the opposite sides of the war and the sister that was left to tend to the plantation. There is also 3 other books in a series that was written by Sandra Brown. Texas! Lucky, Texas! Chase, and Texas! Sage. Again 2 brothers and a sister. Great books. But don't start them unless you have lots of time. You won't want to put them down.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Civil War Romance, March 11, 2002
This review is from: One Wore Blue (Mass Market Paperback)
I read this book years ago and picked it up agian. The story of Kiernan and Jesse is very touching.

Kiernan and Jesse grew up together and Keirnan has always loved him so she is devestated when the war between the states causes Jesses to choose the side of the blue instead of the grey. Finding this unforgivable Kiernen turns her back on her love and marries another. As the war goes on Kiernan becomes a widow and is responisble for her husbands brother and sister and just when things are getting real bad Jesse rides up and saves the day (or at least the Plantation).

The story is strong and a lot of past history is woven in throughout between all of the characters. From a historic stand point there is a lot of historic fact but not so much that it gets heavy.

One Wore Blue is the beginning of a great trilogy. Don't miss it.

5.0 out of 5 stars This one is a classic!!, March 30, 2007
This review is from: One Wore Blue (Mass Market Paperback)
As an avid reader of anything about the Civil War, I am always amazed at how historically inaccurate many books are. This one is the exception. To say that Heather Graham has done her homework would be an understatement. She has a unique talent for blending history, romance, and sexual tension that grabs a reader from page one and doesn't let go. The hero of the story, Jesse Cameron is absolutely to die for! He's handsome, a doctor, a Union officer, a wealthy Virginia plantation owner-need I say more. He also has a strong sense of loyalty and honor that is often missing in romantic male lead characters. He is not one of those typical rakes that needs to be reformed by a good woman. He is already a great guy who doesn't play games and isn't afraid to admit what and who he wants. The story is wonderful and heartwrenching at the same time with beautifully developed main characters as well as secondary characters. I highly recommend this book as well as the two other books in the Cameron Civil War trilogy: "One Wore Grey" and "One Rode West." This is the best Civil War series I have read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful and emotional story... one you won't forget, November 16, 2006
This review is from: One Wore Blue (Mass Market Paperback)
This is the first of Heather Graham's three Civil War Cameron stories (One Wore Blue, And One Wore Gray, And One Rode West). Here we find the story of oldest brother Jesse Cameron who is torn between his conscience and his loyalty to his family and home. He knows he cannot fight for what the South stands for, but also knows to join the Union Army he risks losing everything and everyone he loves. As he makes the difficult choice, we follow him into battle... both on the field and with the woman he has loved his whole life.

This book was one of the best I've read, and is one of the books that I have kept on my shelf and reread occasionally. It is well-written, easy to read, and engaging. The sensuality is enticing, and the emotions even more engrossing. I laughed, cried, and went through the whole range of emotions reading this book. The scene where Jesse leaves his home and must say goodbye to his loved ones is one of the most memorable I have read, and it has stayed with me long after the last page. The images evoked from the lives and experiences of these characters came to life and drew me in so that I was terribly sad when the story had ended. Luckily, there are two more books after this one so you don't have to say goodbye to the Camerons just yet.

I love this both with the other three, The characters almost feel like family. I think that these three books and the North And South trilogy by John Jakes, are my most favorite books. Thank You Heather Graham.

This review is from: One Wore Blue (Mass Market Paperback)
This will definitely be a book you will want to keep and read over and over again. Two days after I finished it, I bought the next in the series, "and One Wore Gray" and started reading it! The passion and intense emotion between Jesse and Kiernan was unbelievable. Really made you want to have known them personally. I'm finding that I want to know what happened in their lives since the end of the book! Definitely leaves you with a good feeling! I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this book!
