These kind of Bibles are great because they encourage you to keep reading everyday. I recommend you start on whatever day you get this book, and simply pretend that you started on the first of January. (No sense in waiting for January to come around for you to start!) The only complaint I have is that they stuffed the Deuterocanonical books in the back, suggesting that this Catholic version was simply thrown together in a lazy attempt to accommodate Catholics. This means you must keep referring to the back to get your daily dose of the Deuterocanon. Aside from this, the book is great, and I think it's a great idea overall.

It takes a year to read this book!,

I am a Catholic Priest and in my opinion, this is an excellent version of the One Year Bible for Catholics. The readings are divided into very "do-able" lengths. There is an Old Testament, New Testament, Psalm and Proverb readings every day. In the back of the book are daily selections from the Deuterocanonical Books. I read this book daily. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wishes to read the Scriptures on a daily basis.
