Of all of the flatware that we have purchased, I find thes to be by far the most comfortable to use. The shape and design is wonderful, they are long and lean, and they are also very natural in the hand. I appreciate the thin long prongs on the fork and the heavy handle on the knife. If you are sick of chunky, bothersome flatware I highly recommend these.

Even better, my original set which is from 1994 is still in very good shape. It takes a good run in the disposal to do any good damage, and they have never rusted or discolored over the years. They did loose some of their shine with knicks, but they have developed a nicer softer look over the years.

I have had this Rose pattern for the last 14 years. I was searching for new flatwear when I came across tha exact pattern that I already have. I couldn't believe I can add to mine. (Somehow after 14 years and two children later some pieces are missing) I use this everyday and put it in the dishwasher. It is still very nice. I just ordered two more sets and am sure that I will enjoy them another 14 years. Thank you so much!

This set is beautiful! The weight, the feel and the presentation are absolutely wonderful. The pictures here doesn't do it justice. It is elegant yet simple, not too plain and not too showey.

I love this pattern. I did notice that the new silverware I just recently purchased from here felt lighter in the hand than my old stuff that I had gotten approx. 20 years ago, but it's not super noticeable. The pattern is exactly the same and very pretty. I love it. Even being 20 years old you would never guess it. We must've thrown some of the spoons out since I was missing 4 of them and decided to just get a whole new set for 4 people. Amazon shipped it right away and in perfect condition. I highly recommend the pattern as it really looks nice and like I said, is fancy enough for company but just right for everyday too!

Oneida brings the same lovely design and balance of its silverware to its stainless patterns. The set I've used for more than 30 years still looks great; the traditional pattern has harmonized with a wide assortment of dinnerware. The rounded edges feel nice in the hand, and I find the size of each piece to be perfect. Treat yourself to an everyday small pleasure for years to come.

We purchased this flatware for my Mother for Christmas and she LOVED it! When she said she wanted flatware with a rose pattern, my first thought was AMAZON and I was very pleased!

I had high expectations for the price and brand quality, but these pieces had rough edges and scuffs. I didn't notice all the flaws until I started using them. Needless to say, I was disappointed.

This set is as lovely as all the other reviewers have stated, but it is not made from 18/8 steel - it is 18/0. (18/10 and 18/8 steel contains 18% chromium and 10% or 8% nickel - the combination makes the steel extremely resistant to corrosion. 18/0 flatware does not contain any nickel and is subject to corrosion, i.e. little spots of rust, pitting, etc.). You can verify this set is 18/0 at the Oneida website or check yourself using the magnet test (18/8 and 18/10 flatware is only slightly magnetic). Still a beautiful and decent flatware set for everyday use and of very good quality (I think Oneida even gives a 25 year warranty). Three other things a potential purchaser should be aware of: (1) the rose detail on the knives is somewhat flattened and only approximates the lovely detailing on the rest of the set, (2) this set does not pass the "spoon test", i.e. you can bend the spoon (with effort) and you could not use the spoon to dig out ice cream - this does not mean that the set is flimsy - it is actually reasonably thick with decent weight, but it is a slim and light design, and (3) this particular set is somewhat overpriced. I purchased a 4 place setting set from ***mart for $20 and the typical price seems to be $24 in most stores (including direct from Oneida). I purchased the set thinking it was 18/8, but will probably keep it anyway because of the quality and beauty, although I must admit it annoys me that the knife doesn't quite match.

8/19/11 Update - I did keep the set I purchased and have to admit they have grown on me. The finish on this flatware is just lovely and the more I use them, the better I like them. I also have an addendum to the spoon test - although the teaspoon didn't pass, I was able to dig out frozen hard ice cream with the tablespoon of this set without bending. Anyway, I am seriously considering buying more of these and have to say I am very impressed with the Oneida quality. By the by these are marked made in Vietnam for those who are interested.

1/16/12 update - The more I use these the better I like them - the Oneida quality is just outstanding. Ended up buying an 8 piece set with serveware direct from the manufacturer. Great everyday flatware.

We've used this every day for years now and it's a great every day set.
