Heavy spoons,
By
This review is from: Oneida Dover Serving Spoon (Kitchen)
I just received two of these spoons as a gift, after listing them on my Amazon wish list. The first thing that I noticed about them is that they are heavy compared to the same spoon that I have from my bought-in-1992 stainless set. I weighed the old and new spoons to compare, and there is a .2 ounce difference between them. It doesn't sound like much, I know, but it is enough to be obvious! The other differences are that the words embossed on the back of the handle are different (it now says "heirloom"), the word "Vietnam" is printed in small letters on the back of the bowl of the spoon, the finish is shinier, and the flower design is more deeply engraved on the handle. The last two differences might be partly due to comparing a 16-year-old spoon to a new spoon, though the original spoon has not seen hard use. Overall, though, the new spoons blend right in with the rest of the set.
