Beautiful to look at and a pleasure to use, this set of two stainless-steel graters makes a fine gift. The shapely santoprene handle on each provides an excellent grip, while a santoprene ring around the base keeps the grater from slipping across a plate. Because the small grater stores inside the large one, and the oval shape makes them fairly flat in profile, the grater set stores compactly inside a cabinet or even more handily, a drawer. Each grater features coarse-grating blades on one entire side, ideal for cheese and carrots, while the other side features fine and medium grates for citrus zest, nutmeg, and more. Made of stainless-steel, the blade surfaces are quite sharp so care should be taken not to scrape knuckles.

Having two graters means the small one can go along on picnics or stay at a vacation cabin, while the full-size one does more of the heavy work. The large grater measures 9-1/2 by 4-3/4 by 2-1/4 inches, while the smaller one measures 6 by 3-1/4 by 1-3/4 inches. Cleaning the graters is easy. The nonslip ring pulls off the bottom to allow access to trapped food particles, and all the parts go right into the dishwasher.
