We have had our set for over 8 years now (It was in our wedding registry list). They have been placed into the dishwasher repeatedly, dropped and generally abused during that time without any wear. Warning, though, if you have toddlers the tableware cannot jump back out of trashcans or other hiding spaces. Hence, our reason for getting an additional set!

Bought a service for 8 about two years ago and it's still going strong. Nice shape for all pieces. Handles are attractive and sturdy. Washes up great in the dishwasher. This is my favorite Oneida pattern thus far. Would definitely buy it again.

I have been very happy with this silverware. I have been using a similar set for over 3 months and I there are only a couple minor spots on a couple of the pieces. This may or may not have come through misuse. The silverware has a good weight to each piece and an elegant styling.

I have had my flatware for approx. 5 years and to date the pieces have held up good. I agree with some of the other reviewers in that the spoon handles can bend if you are dipping ice cream but I believe if you are dipping hard ice cream many spoons would bend - that is why I switched to using an ice cream scooper and saving my spoons from an early death. Other an that all the pieces are holding up - I am happy with the weight and luster.

I had my 65 year old grandmother help me pick them out. She said to get something with weight and she picked these. She was right and her judgement so far is sound.

Not one to write reviews or wax eloquent about flatware, I am doing exactly that in service of a great product. Last year I went to KMart to pick up a last-minute fill-in set of tableware for a dinner party. I thought a fork was a fork, be it Jensen or KMart. I was angry at having spent the money for forks that bent and spoons that fell apart at their blue plastic handles. Oneida is hard to find but worth the effort. This economical set is very handsome, well-balanced in the hand, and a ready-made heirloom. I enjoy cooking very much; eating what I've cooked with cheap and shoddy 'silverware' really galls me. Buy America!

I have had my set of Bancroft Oneida flatware for 12 years and I absolutely love it! It has held up exceptionally well, and I have never had a spoon bend. To say it is no better than PLASTIC is ABUSRD!!!! Beautiful, classy, elegant...I am looking to EXPAND my set. I cannot find anything I like better.

I have had no problems with my flatware. They are actually very sturdy when used properly and not as an ice cream scoop; they make ice cream scoops for this! They are not heavy but are very well made and to say they are just a step up from plastic is a joke! Easily used for formal dining or just everyday use. Mine have been through the washer many times and are still just as bright and shiney as day 1.

I totally disagree with the people who are stating these are not sturdy. These are extremely sturdy and are not cheap feeling at all. That is why I love them. And as far as the people using there spoons to get ice cream...ice cream is frozen and hard. That is why there is a utensil called an ice cream scooper. I have had my set for probably about 2 years now and have not had a problem as of yet. And I am hard to please when it comes to the quality of an item. If this silverware is not sturdy enough for you...than maybe you need to make your own dinnerware out of something a little more solid like...concrete.

I have had my current set for over 10 years and have been very pleased. My only problem is not watching after children eat and hence results in pieces being trashed. I would buy 2 more sets if possible; many places they have been discontinued, This is a great product that can stand years of washing and eating. I have never had a piece bend or break. I highly recommend for a daily use set.

I disagree with earlier review saying they are sturdy. The spoon will bend if you use it to get the ice cream. After three months of use with daily wash in dish washing machine they still look shining. However there are scatches. Other than I think it is a good elegant set.
