These are the highest quality stainless flatware around. The shiny version is what I have. Some place settings that I have are now 5 years old and still look new after countless trips through a dishwasher. Forks and knives are still sharp.

As you can see, these are not cheap. Rest assured, however, that you are buying an everyday set of flatware that you can use for decades. The simple design and quality construction also make these suitable for formal occasions if you do not have silver.

We've owned a set of the shiny stainless version since our 1989 wedding. They've aged beautifully and their simple design and good weight are a pleasure to own, even after 19 years. Excellent quality and well worth the price.

My husband and I registered for this flatware for our wedding. We received an entire set of 12 place settings as well as every serving piece offered in this line. We absolutely adore this flatware. After eating with regular, cheap flatware for so many years, we've come to appreciate the solid feel and weight of good quality 18/10 stainless flatware. The finish on these utensils is polished so beautiful and after using them everyday for the past few months, and being run through countless dishwasher cycles, you can tell this flatware will last for ages!

I have been using this set since 1986. Needless to say, they have been through thousands of meals and dishwasher cycles. They are still great looking, and the best set I've ever used. These are extremely well made, and balanced. They go very well with everyday dinnerware, but are also ellegant enough for meals with fine china.

I liked the flatware so well, I purchased a service for 8, another place setting for one and the serving pieces!

Do not buy. I purchased the Satin Garnet in June 2011. By September 2011 noticed many of the knives had black blemishes on them. Contacted Oneida, and they were willing to give a credit if I bought a different pattern. I upgraded and chose the Easton pattern. Even though Oneida had an on-line sale at the time, they said that I had to buy it at the regular retail price. In addition to paying the price difference of the patterns, I also had to pay currency exchange and sales tax.

In Jan 2012, my husband noticed that on one of the knives, the blade moves when holding the knife by the handle. Two weeks ago, I discovered a black blemish on one of the knives and set it aside. I am definitely now happy about this. Not sure what Oneida will do when I tell them this time about these defects.

I bought the Frostfire pattern over 35 years ago. They are great and I never had a problem with them. I believe this flatware was made in Canada or the U.S. Not the new products.

I was fortunate to purchase a set of these (service for 8) at Costco online, about five years ago, for a very good price. I fell in love with them and am still incredibly happy! Not only do they gleam beautifully (even after 5 years of use), they are heavy and strong, so they feel very impressive in your hands! If you are looking for stylish smooth simple elegance, solid heavy weight, and a beautiful durable finish with strength to match, you will be happy with this product. And I'm one of those picky people! Good luck!
