I bought a service set for 12 used here on Amazon. After 2 months I noticed this morning that rust spots have formed on the knives. It forms in the matte finish areas. I searched online and found that really you should buy 18/10 stainless flatware. Most flatware produced is not 18/10 anymore it is 18/0. I love the beauty and feel of these pieces but I do not want to have to clean rust off. Guess I'll have to buy something else. 18/10 is about twice as much as 18/0 but in my view its worth it.

We got these for our rental condo. When we visited, we were very disappointed to see that after only 4 months, there were rust spots on many of the pieces.

I love the style, appearance, weight. Looks very contemporary yet classy. We use it every day, but it will be for formal occasions too. Only thing I have any reservation on is the table knives. After 2 months, I think I see a tiny bit of rust on the blades as they come out of the dishwasher.

I just recieved my Oneida Tuscany flatware. It is simply beautiful. I like flatware that has weight to it and I am not disappointed one bit. I highly recommend this item to anyone. The price is great too.

This is my second set of flatware in the last few months. One was a "very good" set for my finer dining and special occasions, this one was to replace the stuff I've had for as long as I can remember, something for me and my 6 year old to use for day to day.

I was very surprised at the heft of each piece. Solid construction, well balanced and well made. The design is pleasing (otherwise why would I have purchased it, eh?) and looks good with all of the various sets of plates I have.

Others have complained about rusting, but since I have only myself and my 6 year old son, I almost never use the dishwasher other than occasionally just to keep the seals from drying out, so I'm used to hand washing everything anyway, so I don't expect to have any issues with that since my set will be washed and dried right away after use anyway.

Well packaged to the point of irritation, but all flatware sets are like that, to protect them in transit, so the set I received had not a single problem or mar.

I recently purchased this silverware from Oneida. The pieces are well-made, heavy and feel good in your hand. The forks are a generous size, as well as the knives. My only negative comment is that it is made in China, and that is clearly stamped on some of the pieces. I grew up with Oneida silverware, bought it as a new bride, and now am sad that the company decided to outsource it to China.

The Oneida Tuscany is a gorgeous set of flatware. I got it for my mom for her birthday and she loved it. She uses this flatware everyday. The flatware is very unique looking and very sturdy. It has a nice weight and feel in the hands. She's gotten plenty of compliments on it. You won't go wrong with this set.

I purchased this flatware 4 months ago, after a life time (nearly 60 years) of Oneida flatware use. Of the 12 knives, 8 have rust spots on the blade or handles. I am in contact with Oneida right now, but this experience means I won't purchase their made in China flatware again.
Update: Phone call to Oneida resulted in being put through to someone in the Customer Services Department at Robinson US. Lisa states that rusting occurs for the following reasons: The spoons and forks are made of 18/0, whereas the knives are 13/0, making them lighter, but also more likely to rust. You can't use dishwasher detergent that has citrus, because that eats away at the stainless. You must take the flatware out of the dishwasher and dry it completely, or it will rust. Using Softscrub (non-citrus types) will remove the rust so that you don't have to worry about ugly flatware on your table. She asks for pictures, and states that they will replace the knives ASAP.
I'm still not going to buy Oneida again.......

This is a very pretty set, but the very first time I used it, I found raw, sharp edges on the bottom of the handle of all the soup spoons digging into my hand. Not the quality I had expected from Oneida, but they seemed to have taken a new and inferior approach to their business vs the stuff I grew up with. I returned the set and won't try them again unless I read reports that they have returned to the practices that won their reputation.

i was sick of the flimsy silverware we had when we moved into our place, and was looking for a larger set so if we had company we wouldn't have to wash the forks just to have dessert. at the time i ordered this, Amazon was offering the 20pc set as a free bonus, so I ended up getting service for 12 for the price of 8. this silverware is very sturdy, and has a nice weight in your hand - it doesn't feel like you're holding a tin foil fork! We have well water with alot of sulfur in it, and i have yet to see a speck of rust on any piece of this set. my only complaint is that it's not quite as shiny as when i first got it, but other than that it's held up wonderfully and i've had it for almost a year. the brushed pattern is really nice too, helps hide the inevitable scratches that we all see on our daily use tableware.
