5.0 out of 5 stars i just love love love this cd!
i have onesidezero's first album, and i love that as well, but this one, man, it's SO good! the melodies in the chorus, the groove in the guitar playing, it's just such a good tight knit group. Who Will Stop the Rain - OMFG - what an amazing song! i think i play this cd every day. and it doesn't get old. i recommend it to anyone who wants to hear an amazing rocking cd!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected, November 8, 2007
This review is from: Onesidezero (Audio CD)
Unlike most people who have written reviews for Onesidezero's second album, I have not heard anything from their first. When I saw them under similar bands to Framing Hanley, I went to their Myspace page and listened to Sleep and My Confessions, I expected the rest of the album to be somewhat similar to those songs. They are not in my opinion and are not even close to sounding the same. It sounds as they try to sound like Shinedown a little too much. Now I'm not saying they don't have talent, they do and if they were to try and make their music more like their two hits they would have something going here. Probably an excellent live band but this cd did not live up to my expectations.

3.0 out of 5 stars Descent album, July 31, 2007

If you were a fan of One Side Zero's first release, like I was, you will be dissapointed in this album. It's totally different. They tried to make themselves a little more hard this time around, and it doesn't work for them. They were awesome with a more melodic sound, which is almost non-existent on this album.

If you only give these guys a quick listen; you may not realize how great these guys truly are. Take each song as their own, you will see the vocals and bass lines and guitar all measure up and change vividly as the emotion of the lyrics take you into a world that is not like any other band.

Properly listen to these songs, give them moments to make sense. Do what you have to do that makes complex music work better; cause this my friends is something that makes mainstream radio rock seam depressing. (Cause guys like this have a hard time surviving cause pure radio rock (made for money) bands keep on just racking up the dollars until they fall apart on their own self-conceited selves.

You want a good rock record that brings back some awesome solos, incredible drumming, my boy Levon at the guitars perfecting the way of the guitar - and Jason telling the story with emotion; thought and purely a voice and way of singing that will send you chills down your spine from being simply varied and willing to be as honest as it takes. Music is art to these guys.

Give them a chance and give this record a couple more listens..don't blow it off. If you tired of radio rock and looking for something a little perhaps altered..and little more 'truth'; look no further.

Blows practically anything they play on the radio out of the water other than of course a few good bands they do actually play....just not alot of those :(

till next time :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Why isn't this band HUGE!, December 11, 2008
This review is from: Onesidezero (Audio CD)
This cd has been growing on me since the day it came out. Yes, it's different than the 2001 "is this room getting smaller" release. But, it stands on it's own important ground in the world of rock music and great song-writing.

The GUITARS have come a long way. Reminding me a bit of, if you'd mix Queen-Helloween-The Beatles-Van Halen with a dash more of just plain ol' heavy classic' rock ala Led Zep-Deep Purple!

The VOCALS are again crooned so beautifully in & out of rageful moments of self confessions. Big Melodies and Harmonies playing a huge role again in classic OSZ style.

The BASS and DRUMS are once again holding the heavy groove down low with more outbursts of fills and runs complimenting the Guitars and Vocals.

With all this said, you get the 2007 self titled musical soup called ONESIDEZERO.

Not to mention, in my opinion it blows away everything else that came out at that time last year. Makes for a great X-Mas gift for all music lovers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can a follow up record to a great album be as good?, June 19, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Onesidezero (Audio CD)
OneSideZero's first album is one of the best albums I have ever heard. There are many examples of great bands having an outstanding debut album, with their next album being average at best.
With about 5 years between their first and second album, I was very curious about this new record. How could OSZ possibly follow up such an incredible debut album?
Well, I have only listened to this new album 3 times, but they might have done it, they might have actually made their second album as good or better than their first! I'll have to wait a couple years to make it conclusive...
This new album stretches further, reaches deeper, exploring new dimensions, adding a little metal and lace, with more complex compositions, and harmonic parts that makes one shake their head at the beauty and the simple fact that these guys frekin' ROCK!

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING ALBUM!, September 30, 2007
This review is from: Onesidezero (Audio CD)
This cd is amazing! When I first heard this cd, I thought it was a descent album. However, all it took was one more listen and I was HOOKED. Coming from an actual musician, these guys are SOLID musicians! This album has to be one of the most amazing albums I've heard in a long time. I was a big fan of their first album, and all they did from that time was grow and mature. There is so much to this album and every song is different. Emotions run strong as each master piece progresses. Trust me, These guys KNOW how to write music and it's a shame that more people don't know and appreciate what OSZ has to offer. You like soul? indie? hard rock? don't worry, these guys have everything covered with that OSZ signature sound wrapped around. And most importantly.....the songs flow! each transition is flawless! If you are turned off with this album for any reason, I implore you to reconsider because if you like REAL MUSIC, this album is for you.

For those about to Rock.... THIS ALBUM IS FOR YOU!!!
Right from the start they grip you with one of the best openings in cd history... The way the opening guitar riff Levon lays down is simply a prologue of things to come. The album is a thirteen song rock fest <-- Yes I said rock fest... It has everything from the hard hitters like "Carry Your Gun", "Breath", 'Stay", "Blondevil", and "Trickass Ho." To the very heart felt songs that take you on a journey like "Levitation", "Who Will Stop the Rain" and the ever beautiful "Carry us Away." And not to be left out are the Radio friendly "My Confessions" and "Sleep", both proving to be a hit in many ways.
All thirteen tracks carry unique guitar parts from Levon, grooving bass lines by Cristian, intagable vocals by Jasan Radford, and the backbone Rob Basile on the drums. For a sophomore effort this may be their best cd yet although "Is This Room Getting Smaller..." is one of my favorite of all time I find my self listening to this more.
To wrap it all up... Just spend the $10-$15 to support this band because you will not be disappointed!
Songs to listen to...

Carry Your Gun
Breath
My Confessions
Sleep
Blondevil
Carry Us Away

5.0 out of 5 stars They're Back, June 12, 2007
This review is from: Onesidezero (Audio CD)
I was a huge fan of Onesidezero's debut album Is This Room Getting Smaller. After waiting years for OSZ's next album, I am finally able to say that I have their sophomore album - and that is is great. They've backed off of the highly produced sound of their previous album while advancing their technique and song-writing abilities. I think that this is a great album for fans of the old OSZ or anyone looking for a new straight up hard rock band that deserves much more attention than this Corporate Punishment records album is likely to garner.

Great rock, talented band, what more could you ask for?

5.0 out of 5 stars MY DAILY SOUNDTRACK, July 12, 2007
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Onesidezero (Audio CD)
The first cd is by far still one my most favored and cherished cd's, but in purchasing this cd I have found a new respect for the growth of this band. Granted, in the beginning, I didn't think it sounded very ONESIDE at all, but the more I listened, the more soul I found in it. Jasan has an incredible vocal range and they tie together well as a band. I have listened to it over and over and have found much love for this cd and have not played the 1st one in a while. I have purchased this cd for everyone of my friends and I have had nothing but positive feedback. Not to mention that if you love the cd's, SEE THEM LIVE, it's an experiance that will remain with you for time to come!
