The termite does a great job on end grain and normal turning too. Well made and does smooth cuts when used as instructed. the sharpening stone was loose in the packaging and scratched up the sharpening "puck" which doesn't affect performance but was suprising after they went to the bother to etch the logo on it. Will be one of my often used turning tools.
