Almost-necesary buy with the game!,
By
This review is from: Oni: Prima's Official Strategy Guide (Paperback)
This book details all the moves you can do and the enemies encountered. General, all-situations, strategies are also discussed. All weapons are also described, with the usual pros/cons about them, and details on how to use them and how to go against them. Fighting moves are detailed, with explicit control instructions on when/how it is acquired and executed. There are a few statistic glitches here and there, but in general, this info stacks up well.(Beware of the main character's description near the beginning of the book. There are major spoilers here!!) Also, specific points in the game where the player's progress is automatically saved are described. Tips and Objective changes are highlighted in the text. And each episode header comes with a preview of what enemies and weapons that shall be encountered If you want to follow where the book wants to lead you, you have to read all the text in full detail, since there are NO MAPS in this book..... Although this book is written for the Playstation version of the game, all details can easily be ported to the PC. Like the game, this book could easily have been better. But as it is, like the game, it is still very good. Also, this book comes with a small preview of the Dark Horse comic book!

Prima is almost there.....,
By A Customer
This review is from: Oni: Prima's Official Strategy Guide (Paperback)
Prima guides do lack a bit, but this one is good I would say great if the had a MAP for each level instead of those little snap shots but it does help you when you get lost on some of those difficult levels, and the move list is so convienent I love looking down then doing a double spin kick and shooting the guard behind me (thanks to the book fo showing me the moves instead of going into your "diary") but all in all it's a good "help" guide but no maps.
