5.0 out of 5 stars Great book
I found this book to be very informative. Excelent for the beginner gardner to the most seasoned. I recommend this book very highly. Worth many times it's price when considering that time is money and this book saves you time with cut to the chase facts easy understood details.

3.0 out of 5 stars Where are the leeks?
Without doubt this is a very solid book on onions but I got it to read about leeks since the title implied that it would cover them well. 4.0 out of 5 stars great reference for gardener, October 28, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a great reference for avid gardeners. It's easy to use and just what I was looking for. Wished it had a resource list of where to purchase the best garlic and onion sets.

Without doubt this is a very solid book on onions but I got it to read about leeks since the title implied that it would cover them well. There is very little information given on leeks and so it was a disappointment. Of course, much of information on onions applies to leeks, but not everything. As a book for the gardener exploring the many onion varieties, it can be recommended and is full of wisdom, but those of us wanting the perfect vegetable soup that relies on leeks will need to search elsewhere.
