First off, this book is very well written. He has accomplished the difficult; making a computer book that's enjoyable to read. If I were new to eBay or to the online auction arena, I can see where this would help me. Dennis explains the entire process from A to Z.

Now for the downside. I sell daily at eBay, and I was hoping to gain a little more in depth information, ie. best times to post, credit cards, taxes, listing strategies, handling deadbeat bidders, etc. Based on the earlier reviews, this book was supposed to be beneficial to even the most advanced of eBay users. I did not find that to be the case.

All in all the book was worth the money. If you are new to eBay, then this is a MUST HAVE. I will hand it off to my father, as he is new to eBay and this should be right up his alley.

I was truly dissapointed in this book. As an Ebay seller with a feedback of over 400, I wanted to find a book that would help me increase my sales and give me some great ideas and resources.

Not only was there no new information in there, it was information that anyone who did any research on their would have already found using the internet and Ebay itself.

Out of all the reviews of all the books about Auctions out there, this one looked like the best for people who were already using Ebay. It's not.

If you're 100% new to Ebay and you don't have time to do a lot of research on your own, it's a great reference. Otherwise, I'd suggest putting the money this book costs into your piggy bank.

I had been on Ebay for a few months when I read this book, and I have a feedback rating of 36. Some people said that this book is only for the people who are very new at Ebay. I disagree!

Dennis Prince does an OUTSTANDING job of explaining Ebay to people at all different places on the learning curve. The book is entertaining, captivating, and so very informative! His humorous style makes it a real pleasure to read.

I knew a fair amount of what Dennis has to say in the book, but I learned quite a bit too. He covers MANY different situations and tells them how to handle them. He deals with etiquette the eBay way and you will feel comfortable hopping right into the eBay auction scene after reading this book!

He covers bidding, selling (including how to research your item so you know what to charge for it), how to win if it's something you REALLY want to have, and much much more. He also covers in detail how to pack things safely and where to get materials, etc.

Dennis also covers how to take pictures of your items and get them on your item listing page.

This is a very well-written book, with a wealth of how-to-do it information. I was especially interested in Dennis's sniping techniques. His internet and server access methods are very similar to those used by experienced stock market day traders. I also enjoyed the entire tone of the book...it was fun to read, even if you never work up the courage to bid.

"Online Auctions at eBay, Bid with Confidence, Sell with Success" is a big book (in both meanings). Mr. Dennis L. Prince makes it enjoyable and easy to understand. This is the book with smooth writing style and a lot of the author's own experience. The book is really well written, with a valuable how-to-do it information, simplified explanations, and a good sense of humor. But, as I see, that would be a valuable reference mostly for beginners. If you are new to eBay, then this is a must-have. This book is for anyone who wants to become a casual eBay participant, both for buyers and sellers.

This book is an excellent companion not for the eBay buyers and sellers only, but also for a thorough education about others online auction sites. After finishing this book I use obtained knowledge in my bids at other online auctions, for example, at the best Russian online auction Molotok.ru. And now I know some people in Moscow who are making business through online auctions. But I think people can figure it out without the use of any book.

I was hoping to find some tips and tricks that I could use on eBay that I didn't already know. Unfortunately, there were few of them.

This is a well written book that would be a valuable reference for beginners. I would recommend it to them. Experienced eBay users will find very little new information here.

This book is excellent. It has helped me so much. And it is written in a very easy to understand way, even for a beginner like me. It tells you when is the best time to list your item. All about buying and selling. Everything you need to know. I haven't written a review before, but I wanted to recommend this one. Thanks so much, Mr. Prince!

This book is for anyone who wants to be a casual ebay participant, or for hard core buyers and sellers. There is detailed information for both beginners and seasoned users to aid in the online auction experience. Dennis makes this book easy to read, with simplified explanations and a great sense of humor.

All of your feelings of fear, ignorance and being overwhelmed with the auction process online will be put to rest after reading this book. No stone goes unturned.

The price is a bargain. I have read other online auction books which were a waste of time and money...however, there is not one individual who will not be pleasantly surprised and satisfied by "Online Auctions at eBay".

I have just completed my first auction at eBay after reading this book....Results: I was the high bidder out of 170 bids. I WON!!!

I'm already done Christmas shopping. Like that guy in the commercials. All accomplished within the warm, cozy, friendly confines of home! This is especially excellent when one lives in the Tundra and has obviated the need for shopping forays over the frozen river and through the woods to the mall. Through ice and snow. Barefoot. Uphill both ways, coming and going.

Some information in this book is outdated and you would do better to go through eBay's on-line tutorial and Newbie BB. Still, this book has very helpful additional info. Like its subtitle says: "Bid with confidence, Sell with success." In the beginning of the book, there was (to me, at least,) way too boring text on how to buy or borrow hardware and software to connect one's self to the Internet so as to avail one's self of eBay. You can take a nap or skip that if you're already here and reading this.

So far in my preliminary shopping saga, I have shed the Cheap Sunglasses (which serve to caution other eBayers encountering one so identified: "Newbie alert! Newbie alert! This eBayer has yet to establish recognition!") Mr. Prince's book is helpful and humorous - who wants to read a dry old text, anyway? And even if, like me, you are not a Seller, the "how-to's" for Sellers here help a Buyer understand some of the "tricks of the trade" some Sellers, or even competing Buyers, may use on the unwary. And there's a section on that insidious, ubiquitous Sniping. Yikes! Forewarned is forearmed, and Prince's book gives you what you need for the Battle. Bid on! Reviewed by TundraVision

I have just recently finished this book. While 90% of this information can be gleaned from the ebay site itself for the patient learner; the remaining 10% was worth the price of admission. Three areas were very appreciated. The controversy of sniping, timing of auction listings, and more importantly the author's real examples of what I call the "rules of engagement" with the other party. All of these examples can only be shared by someone with quite a bit of experience. You will find in this well organized, exhaustive book that Mr Prince has passion for his subject matter which while can get a little wordy at times is appreciated none-the-less. Two months ago I discovered ebay. Once hooked my focus has been very specific. How can I run this part time as a business? Of the multiple resources I have aquired this work is the only one that attempts to answer my question. The only thing I felt it should have had was a reference cd in the back with all of the great "boilerplate" letters.
