The book is filled with vivid and accurate descriptions of insider politics and power played out in the capitol of the world's most powerful nation. People who are familiar with inside the beltway politics will find the read enjoyable. People who want to know and understand how the capitol of the United States "works" will also find the book extremely informative. It may be the subtlety in the author's colorful and melodious language that will have the greatest effect on American readers. However, the author descriptions of physical landscape of Washington DC are confoundingly generous, and perhaps skewed inaccurately. The advantage of this book is that it was written by foreign correspondent, which gives us a clear, fresh and objective look at the current state of the politics and issues facing the U.S. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone, particularly the established academia of political science, media historians and political communication students.

Tells you more about European Bias about America than America itself.

You would not know from this book that America is a richer nation than Great Britain or that its citizens have a higher standard of living.
