The writing style in this book is not the most professional I have seen. It skips around a lot and repeats a lot. YET, the basic information is supurb. The stories about cancer victims well worth the read. A lot can be learned from this book.. BTW, it is NOT about a single cancer cure. I would not recommend this book because the material in it is very dishonest. People who are making decisions on how to fight their cancer deserve to get information that is truthful. Coldwell takes the attitude of "just trust me." He even has a trademark quote: "Its only my opinion--but I might right!" (page 33).

The writing style in this book is not the most professional I have seen. It skips around a lot and repeats a lot. YET, the basic information is supurb. The stories about cancer victims well worth the read. A lot can be learned from this book.. BTW, it is NOT about a single cancer cure. The title can be a bit misleading. the book really shows the author to be extremely caring man who has endured most of his family with cancer. Many years of knowledge came from wanting to save his mother as a young boy. AND HE DID.. Unknown information is revealed..

1.0 out of 5 stars Dishonest book, March 6, 2010

I would not recommend this book because the material in it is very dishonest. People who are making decisions on how to fight their cancer deserve to get information that is truthful. Coldwell takes the attitude of "just trust me." He even has a trademark quote: "Its only my opinion--but I might right!" (page 33).

This book is packed full of misleading information, but I picked two things that stand out:

Coldwell's headline marketing boast is he has cured 35,000 people from cancer at a 92.3% success rate. We know this is false by using simple arithmetic. How many people does he cure every day? 20? Is he a 500-year old elf? And if his boast were true, he should be the doctor of the century and have his picture on the cover of every major publication. I would dare anyone to find any information about Coldwell or his self-reported success that does not come from his own advertising.

Coldwell also claims his curing rate is legendary in Europe and he is known as the number one leading alternative doctor in the continent. He lists 6 German clinics that he recommends cancer patients go to because they use the techniques that he advocates. I decided to contact these German clinics and find out if they know Coldwell and if they use his techniques. These are supposedly the guys that are on his side. Three of them were kind enough to reply:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Dr. Wilson

Working in the field of alternative medicine for more than 15 years. I have not heard anything about a Dr. Coldwell as a holistic and alternative doctor in Europe. Also there is nothing known and available about legendary curing rates after treatments of patients in Europe.

If doctor Coldwell was that famous in Europe I would know him, because I know most of the alternative specialists, some of them even personally from different meetings.

Also the name Leonard Coldwell does not sound German at all.

I believe it is very important to help cancer patients to find the right path which includes alternative treatments as well as conventional treatments. The aim should be to guide the patient to the best possible results what ever method may be helpful.

General promises of curing rates higher than 90 % in cancer are not helpful at all. They may be understood as false promises offering to treatments without much benefit there is the risk of loosing important time.

What is your intention? Are you interested in treatments available in Germany or are you just generally interested in medicine and alternative medicine?

I hope I could help you.

If you have more questions please let me know.

With best regards

Dr. med. Alexander Herzog

Chief physician

Dear J. Wilson,
Many thanks for your e-mail. I can give you no closer information about Dr. Coldwell. To me is only known that he has written the named book. Maybe you can get in contact yourselves with Dr. Coldwell.
Kind regards
Dr. med. AXEL WEBER

Dear Mr. Wilson,

thank you for your email. We don' know anything about Dr. Coldwell. We have never worked with him and we didn't ever heard about a cancer therapy in related to him. 93% succes rate seems be exaggerated. If someone would achieve this succes rate, he would be very famous. As I said, we have never heard about him.

Yours sincerely

5.0 out of 5 stars Very tough on the medical establishment, yet seems to be true, July 16, 2011
This review is from: The Only Answer to Cancer (Paperback)
I think one of the reviews here says that Doctors and Nurses want to help people and are compassionate. That may be true in many cases, but it doesn't mean that they haven't bought into numerous sophisticated lies or propaganda (a form of brainwashing call it). You learn what they teach you at school and are trained in certain medical practices and theoretical knowledge. Some of that knowledge may be useful and accurate, some may be wrong, and alot of other things may get left out entirely. It seems it is very common for numerous professions to have professional biases and distortions. This is true in journalism, lawyers, bankers, various sciences, economists, politicians and so on. We can not just blindly follow a bunch of experts who in reality may have all kinds of sophisticated sounding things things to say, but in reality they are not their own boss; quite the contrary, they are paid and work for industries that are controlled by various people of one sort or another or even by FDA rules. If they do not say the right thing, many or most of them would probably be fired, fined, etc. Anyone who is familiar with how many large companies work should not be surprised with that in any way.

The other side of the criticism here is that Coldwell points out that the success rate for kemo or other treatments is very low, maybe something like 2%. I have not researched that fully, but I have found a website that says some cancers have a 1% success rate for kemo etc. I also heard that oncologist who have cancer are the least likely to get kemo etc ..

Much of what Coldwell talks about seems to bear out things I have researched on the internet from various sources. It may seem shocking, depressing, or hard to believe, but I am afraid it seems it is is mostly correct.

I found this book to be very informative with respect to dietary and supplement recommendations. Dr. Coldwell has extensive experience in the field and shares his point of view in a very matter-of-fact way. Explanations are given as to "why" certain things are true, biologically. The reader will need to decide for him/herself where to go from here.

Some of the writing is conversational and it looks like there was no editor. English is obviously not the author's first language.

Overall, I enjoyed reading the book and found many helpful suggestions in it.

Well Leonard is not going to make the Christmas card list from the pharmaceuticals industry. This book should be given to all cancer patients as they are diagnosed.

His accurate, passionate and honest portrait of a system of medicine should be mandated in the school system

Well done
