The smell is mild and it left my hair feeling soft and looking shiny.

BTW, I have highlighted, medium brown hair that, like I said before, is mostly gray now & I used 6N Dark Natural Blonde.

Mixed it up like it said 2:1 ratio and left it on the full 45 minutes - no coverage.

Color Name: 7G Medium Golden Blonde
I uploaded a pic so you can see the color. I'm wearing the blue shirt.

My hair has been through the ringer! bleached 3x, dyed 2x, toned 4x. My hair STILL had stubborn brass, especially at the bottom but it looks SOOOO good now!

I took a risk and was nervous, but it was either this or ANOTHER salon visit where I pay them to mess my hair up even more (that happened to me twice in this little journey.) The color looks lighter in the picture but I promise it's darker in person. My hair is porous and it didn't get as dark as the swatch but that's to be expected- Don't look at the hair swatch and expect to have the exact same color, especially if you are an at home "colorist"

NOT BAD AT ALL! Sure beats paying upwards of $100 for a "double process" when I did my hair for $6.00, and don't have to depend on pricey salon visits.

OH and FYI my hair was MOISTURIZED by dye. Very strange, but in the shower my hair felt good and healthy, not stiff or processed. I'm not complaining!

*******EDIT********
I noticed my color did fade after the first wash, so I suggest going to a darker color than what you want. My color is beautiful, and I was expecting it to fade anyway. It's a nice golden color (dirty blonde), and still very shiny and luscious color

Color Name: 5N Light Natural Brown
About a year ago I tried taking my hair from black to blonde at home. Eeeek. I have naturally curly course hair anyways and it was destroyed. I started going to a salon and slowly brought my hair back to life, but it still wasn't as soft and silky as it used to be. Now a year later I decided I don't want to be blonde ish any more and did allot of research before deciding to dye my hair medium brown. First thing I did was buy a protein filler, because my hair was still damaged in some areas I was afraid of the color not grabbing evenly. After the twenty minutes of leaving that in I felt noticeable difference in my hair texture. I was excited. Secondly I did a test strip, because I honestly didn't want my hair to turn black with hot roots like it always does when I use any brand of box kits. Test strip came out even, not black with no hot roots so I went all in and did my hair in sections, doing underneath first, since if that was on longer and got darker I could live with that, doing the top/crown and roots last. A tip I had read online to avoid hot roots is to use a cap while it sits so the heat from your scalp will be trapped and heat all of your hair mostly evenly and not just the roots. I did this and was pleased that it worked out well. I only left it on for barely 30 minutes before I shampooed with cold water, and then put on a deep conditioner and put the cap back on. This time I used my hair dryer to heat it up because I didnt have a whole lot of time, after a another half hour I rinsed that out and was FLOORED by how silky my hair is. I used one box of 5n and a 10 dev because I dint want allot of lift/damage. With my hair wet, it does look black, I had a momentary heart attack before I used heat and checked it all out dry. A nice even, shiney deep brown color that is awesome. Next time I will prob use a shade lighter, but so far I am extremely happy with how it turned out!

Color Name: 4CH Medium Chocolate Brown
The first time, I used volume 20, which is permanent. I have gray roots though, so sometimes it isn't penetrating the roots as much and they turn reddish, regardless the brand. I talked to One & Only and they said it does help to mix some 5N in and that if I use the volume 10 it will be semi-permanent. I did the root touch up 1st- 2 parts 5N and 1 part 4CH and then double the amount of developer. I let that sit 25 min and then mixed 1 part 5N and 1 part 4CH with double the amount for developer (as the instructions say 2:1), and then I let that sit the remainder of the 45 minutes. Color was a rich chocolate brown that completely covered grey. Hair was well conditioned. Amazingly this faded less than the permanent application! Maybe because my hair is porous and it was washing out. Semi perm sits ontop of the hair. I always wash/rinse with cool water, I wait 2 days after coloring to wash, and I use only conditioner when washing for every other day. This is recommended with any hair color product to prevent it from fading too fast. I also use sulfate free shampoos.... Many that claim to be color safe contain sodium laurel sulfate!!!!
(For the person reviewing who used it and got no color, the seller probably sold you a rip off product. That's awful.)

Color Name: 10A Lightest Ash Blonde
This product is fantastic. With guidance from my hairdresser, I went into Sally's one day and on a whim selected the Light Chocolate Brown and 20 developer. I had recently gone from heavy blonde highlights and wanted to save money on salon trips by going darker. The dye is amazing. Even coming from the salon, my hair is usually very dry and rough after coloring. Not with this. My hair feels healthy and moisturized after application, and because of my heavy grey's, I usually leave it in at least 45 minutes. The color is gorgeous and I get compliments all the time on the shade. I spend about $6 on a double application and $2 on the developer, so $8 in total for rich, gorgeous color. On average, I used to spend about $150 at the salon for a color treatment. Absolutely LOVE this product and will never go with a regular box dye again.
