5.0 out of 5 stars Truly a great bake sale book.
This cookbook has 23 recipes for rice krispie treats! I had no idea one could be so creative with rice krispies. There are sections for bars, brownies, breads, cupcakes, by the slice, candy and then holiday tables.

1.0 out of 5 stars The Best Vanilla Cupcakes???
I just tried the recipe for the Best Vanilla Cupcakes and I am extremely disappointed. I am an experienced enough baker to realize that some extra form of liquid was missing from this recipe, yet I forged ahead, wanting to try the recipe "as written". Well, "as written" produced a batter that was very much like cookie dough, and, scooped into cupcake tins, yielded 12...

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly a great bake sale book., September 21, 2008
This review is from: The Only Bake Sale Cookbook You'll Ever Need: 201 Mouthwatering, Kid-Pleasing Treats (Paperback)
This cookbook has 23 recipes for rice krispie treats! I had no idea one could be so creative with rice krispies. There are sections for bars, brownies, breads, cupcakes, by the slice, candy and then holiday tables.

There are suggestions for setting up tables for your bake sale, publicizing your bake sale, figuring out how much you need as well as transporting tips. There are no pictures so you'll have to know yourself what the final product should look like. All recipes are tried and true so you can't fail with this bake sale cookbook.

Most are simple to make and don't require tons of fondant or almond paste so any home cook could make these recipes without a big investment. I would have liked to have seen a section on the frugal bake sale treats, you know those that could be made with minimal cash outlay. But you'll just have to figure out what you have on hand already and that's the cheapest way to go.

Good luck and have a happy bake sale.

Has many Recipes that are easy but I sure look fantastic when finished. I have made a few of them and they have all turned out well. I only wish there were pictures. Those are always a help.

I just tried the recipe for the Best Vanilla Cupcakes and I am extremely disappointed. I am an experienced enough baker to realize that some extra form of liquid was missing from this recipe, yet I forged ahead, wanting to try the recipe "as written". Well, "as written" produced a batter that was very much like cookie dough, and, scooped into cupcake tins, yielded 12 sugar-cookie-like globs of disappointment, not the 24 "light" and perfect cupcakes that were promised to me. Don't waste your money on this one...there are far better cookbooks of this type available.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst Cupcakes I've EVER Made!, January 11, 2012
This review is from: The Only Bake Sale Cookbook You'll Ever Need: 201 Mouthwatering, Kid-Pleasing Treats (Paperback)
As an experienced baker- I was perplexed by the ingredient list in the Vanilla cupcakes but tried the recipe anyway. BIG MISTAKE - instead of 24 light, fluffy cupcakes - I was surprised to bake 14 of the heaviest scone-like hockey pucks with no flavor. I then tried the chocolate cream cheese frosting which was somewhat more successful. Something must have been left off the ingredient list but I'm not sure I can trust any of the recipes going forward. Also - no photos is disappointing in a cookbook that is supposed to have special decorating tips and display ideas for sales. This is my first review and I hope people read it before wasting their time and money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Some recipes are incorrect., August 16, 2011

I tried making the vanilla cupcakes. The recipe had no liquid ingredients listed, no milk or water. I followed the recipe anyway after having a friend read the instructions to make sure I was not going selectively blind.

The resulting "cupcakes" are EXTREMELY dry and dense, with limited taste appeal. NOTHING like the description given- "the lightest fluffiest cupcakes ever!".

No one, including my teen son (AKA the bottomless pit), considered these to be worth frosting or eating.

As far as I am concerned, the book was a waste of money. I don't want a cookbook with recipes that I have to alter and second guess just to make edible food.
