After 3 years, Mesh is back and "didn't waste all that time". "Only Better" is the strong debut single from Mesh's upcoming album, "A Perfect Solution".

All 3 mixes of "Only Better" are good, but I prefer the original, Gritty Mix. The Alien6 mix kicks it up a notch but drops the violins, making this the number 2 mix for me. The Club Mix is not what I consider a traditional club mix, but really starts to shine when you can listen to its subtleties on headphones.

The other two singles are not as good as what Mesh usually packs on their singles, but are still worth the download. Everything I Made is also on the upcoming album, but I consider Shattered the more album-worthy of the two songs.

Singles by bands I love always make me happy because it spells out "new album" and "this is what I am going to sound like." With Mesh, the sound should be one that people can guess by now - the vocals are more than superb, the sounds are fragile and sound like they come from a wounded place, and they all try to hand out meaning.

On this EP, there are three tracks of "Only Better," and here I find myself agreeing with other reviewer over the gritty mix being the best of the three. This isn't meant as a slight toward the others, either, because they all are worthwhile. Then there is Shatter Glass, another worthwhile addition to the Mesh collection, and my favorite track here "Everything I made." In so many senses this song reminds me of a rekindling of older tracks, taking me back a couple of albums while incorperating new sounds in this extremely talented band.

Everything vein they offer, tap it. You won't be sorry.
