This CD definitely represents the best of Broadway. I have listened to this CD so many times and have enjoyed it tremendously each and every time. It also introduced me to two musicals I hadn't had the opportunity to hear yet--Titanic and Ragtime. The two songs chosen for this CD were so incredibly good that I immediately bought those musicals in full. This is the third time I have had to buy this CD because my family members keep taking mine. Definitely get this. You won't regret it.

This CD may not be the only Broadway CD you'll ever need because it leaves out songs from many high profile and popular musicals, but it does have a wide variety from what RCA Victor produced. It is a nice CD with some sound choices of music ... I enjoy listening to it.

This CD (and her new one THE ONLY OTHER BROADWAY CD YOU'LL EVER NEED) contains some of the the greatest hits of the broadway musicals, from the very beguinning to this years smash hits. If you want a great collection of songs, this collection is for you. The recordings are all very good and nothing is fake. You won't be sorry for buying this CD! I knew very little of the songs when I got it, and now I know them all by heart! Enjoy!

If you are a fan of Broadway music and musicals, you will truly enjoy this CD. It contains a smattering of music--20 cuts from 20 different shows--and you know every one of them. Although I might have chosen some different numbers from other shows, no CD can contain the best of every show. But I highly recommend this if you enjoy the music of Broadway.

While this CD represents a wide variety of musical styles and performances, the inclusion of works from Titanic and Ragtime alongside Oklahoma and Cabaret gives me pause. Works from recent shows such as Rent, Phantom, Les Mis, or even Cats are far more deserving of inclusion. Tinanic and Ragtime will not withstand the test of time of the other included works.

This CD provides a great example of how Broadway can provide tunes that run the gamut from tender and moving to all-out "show-stopping"! The producers did a good job on their selections: they included songs like "You'll Never Walk Alone" - a stand-by on any Broadway compilation - but they also chose to feature more unexpected but equally powerful and beautiful numbers like "Wheels of a Dream". A very worthwhile purchase!

The title is misleading - I enjoy all sorts of Broadway CDs and records. A good selection and enjoyable presentation. Arrived promptly and in excellent condition.

This is a very nice collection of Broadway musicals. The performers are excellent and the selection is varied. Bottom line, I like it.

How can you even think that this could be "the only broadway CD you will even need" or want. All I can say is that while this has a great variety of selections, how can you leave out CATS, Les Misarables, Phantom of the Opera, Rent, Miss Saigon, Tommy, Little Shop of Horrors, My Fair Lady, Evita, Side Show... all of which contain at least one memorable and recognizable song...I guess they'll just have to make a "The Only Broadway CD You Will Ever Need II"...is that an oxy moron?

Okay all of those songs are great but I have a question. Where is Andrew LLoyd Webber on this CD? Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph and the amazing technicolor dreamcoat, Evita and CATS? How can you manage to make a CD of Broadway with out Andrew Lloyd Webber? They need to re-do this cd.
