For an author with such amazing perspective of the human condition (see, A Happy Marriage), this book was a huge disappointment. All of the characters were shallow and self-interested. I could not understand why any of them were in relationships with each other, or why I should care about them. I stopped reading at about page 100 after trying VERY hard.
