Changed My Life,
By C. C. Lawhon (Malibu, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Only Diet There Is (Paperback)
If you are tired of fad diets and of worrying constantly about your weight, size, etc, READ THIS BOOK. This book changes the way we look at ourselves, what we eat, and why we eat it. It is intense and not like any other diet book you've ever known, but it works. I have had eating issues all my life and this book has made me happy with my body (and I lost weight too!). Now I am able to enjoy food again and I don't have to obsess about calories and fat or ratios or protein or special meals or anything else those fad diets kill you with. I can't explain it, but this got me out of the "diet mode" and into a true, loving view of myself and my food. It helps vegetarians, carnivores, and chocaholics. Basically, it took away my obsessive/compusive food habits and gave me peace of mind and the body I've always wanted. THANK YOU SONDRA RAY!

THE BEST BOOK EVER WRITTEN,
By Meg (Gold Coast, QLD Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Only Diet There Is (Paperback)
This is without doubt the best book ever written. I was at my heaviest weight at the age of 22. I weighed 90 kilograms, I was depressed, I hated life and thought that there was no hope of ever feeling good again. Then I stumbled across this book and thought here we go, yet another book to disappoint me. But as I flicked through it I realized there wasn't a single recipe or physical exercise of any kind. So I bought it out of curiosity. When I got home I read the book from cover to cover. Not only did I lose over 35 kilograms but I started living life again. Thank you Sondra Ray, you truley saved my life.

A book for people who have tried every diet.,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Only Diet There Is (Paperback)
I have tried every diet, low fat, high protien, all vegetarian, starvation, etc. I have been working out and lifting weights for years. Finally, someone has made the connection with how we feel about ourselves with how we are physically. Did you ever wonder why some people can eat whatever they want and never gain weight? Some people will tell you it's because they have a fast metabolism. Well, this may be true, but how do you get a fast metabolism? Or maybe it's because they don't associate eating with being fat. And maybe they don't hate themselves for every morsel that goes into their mouths, and maybe they aren't afraid of food, and maybe they don't even think about it! This book shows you how you can rebuild your relationship with yourself and food so that you are no longer afraid to eat and how to learn to love yourself now and forever.

Sondra Ray is a wonder,
By
This review is from: The Only Diet There Is (Paperback)
Sondra Ray finally got it right. We live in a society that quantifies and analyzes everything. Yet, despite all our pseudo-scientific endeavor, no one can REALLY get to the bottom of America's ongoing toxic obsession with food and dieting. Ray crystallizes what many have long suspected--that fat is a spiritual issue. Period. With the help of this book, the idea finally penetrated my consciousness. Undoubtedly, some will find the ideas a bit "far out". Realize, however, that although the material has a distinctly New-Age flavor, the underlying precepts are good as gold. You will find value here regardless of your belief system. Try an experiment--do a few written affirmations as soon as you are tempted to go back on a regular diet. Allow them to take root over the next few days and you will be pleasantly surprised by the mental and spiritual shift you experience. You've got nothing to lose except negativity...(and fat)!

Accidental find...or was it.....?,
By Nicolette Clark (Charleston, SC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Only Diet There Is (Paperback)
I have been suffering from compulsive yo-yo dieting for sixteen years. I was at the bookstore looking in the self-help section for anything that could stop the insanity in my head and my compulsion with bingeing and dieting. The title of this book caught my attention. The information inside is invaluable. After reading a few pages I tried to find the publishing date. 1982!!! I had a feeling it wasn't written currently because it is so completely honest and straight from the heart. No worries about being "P.C." here. The majority of the book is affirmations and ways to change your way of looking at food.
I wish I could tell everyone about this book. If you are in any way obsessed with food, please give this book a try and then drop by your local Overeaters Anonymous meeting. The two together have changed my life.

the absolute truth!,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Only Diet There Is (Paperback)
Have you ever read something and got the feeling that it was the absolute truth ? Well, this is what i felt when i read this book, and beleive me i read a lot of diet books and many of the new age books. It is not a diet book. The only recipe it gives you is how to love yourself. You can feel that sondra ray was there, she is not just lecturing you, she knows - she was there! And it makes you enthusiastic to start following her program, not tomorrow - today ! If it worked for her it can certainly work for you too!

The Diet There Is,
By Gina Smith (New Jersey) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Only Diet There Is (Paperback)
The thing I liked about this book is Sondra gives you Great Ideas through the use of positive affirmations on how to change your thinking on eating. The positive affirmations are great if your into them I feel their are so many you can really pick and choose which you like, or create your own from her suggestions. I feel this book may get criticized because its on that "New Age" level, but if you like that you may like this, if not, if you can weed through some of her beliefs there are some helpful Ideas. Also, the book has nothing to do with the typical diet. Its all about changing you thinking paterns which is what really has to happen before we can expect to stick to any "diet" for life.

This book is excellent,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Only Diet There Is (Paperback)
Yes, some of the stuff in the book is a bit far out. But it has some of the best positive affirmations I have ever seen for getting oneself into the mental groove that is critical for successful weight loss! Highly recommended. The rest of Ms. Ray's books were a bit disappointing, but this one is worth it.

An amazing turnkey to achieving your ideal weight and measures,
By
This review is from: The Only Diet There Is (Paperback)
Through its excercises of love and forgiveness, I have indeed never been as beautiful as I look today. People notice and have been asking for the secret. Yet, even when that was all in my mind when I first began reading it, soon weight lacked importance at the sight of the major goodness you can achieve by the perfect state of mind that the book implies, such as also gaining remarkable health, better and enhanced relationships with everyone, extending happiness all around you. You may also forsee the possibility of dealing with other issues, like smoking for instance. When I began Sondra's excercises to the reasons my inner self was hiding to prevent weight lose, I just couldn't believe the answers I found in myself.
