No need to dream, it's here: A fierce dance tune from Deb!,
By A Customer

Deborah Gibson reinvents this 1980's mega-dance hit with help from Junior Vasquez. Gibson sheds her skin and reveals herself as a true dance diva as she sings and raps her way through this techno-rave escapade. Be ready for fierce dance floor action with remixes by the one and only, Jr. Vasquez.

Former teen princess goes all out techno w/80's tune,

Debbie really shows here that she can dance it up with the club scene of the late 1990's. The remixes here are fine dance efforts. But contrary to others, this collection of the same song remixed practically the same every time is not fierce in terms of club techno. Madonna will always be the queen techno diva and while Deb did wisely use the obvious talent of Madonna pal and long time collaborator-Junior Vasquez, her ending results are fine. Not legendary techno club music by any stretch of the the words. I like these mixes and i was thrilled to find them. But they also fit into the category of typical top 40 hits putting on the techno mask. The fit is fine, not spectacular. Her mixes of "Losin' Myself" which were released only to club D.J.'s and which i have copies of are worlds better.

Of all her songs this is my most favorite! After listening to the samples I wanted to buy this CD, but some jerks are price gouging this rare item. 25-40 bucks??!! It's a single! You should be ashamed of yourselves for taking advantage of us Debbie fans, she should get the money, not you greedy a-holes!!!

OUTSTANDING, GIBSON CAN BE THE NEXT DANCE DIVA NO DOUBT!,
By A Customer

Deborah shines on this remake of her first Top 5 Billboard hit "Only In My Dreams". Now all she has to get is a great producer, a new label and some new songs and she is back on top! Watch out Cher!

DEBORAH FOCUS ON THE FUTURE.,

Deborah Gibson can be a pop queen if she would just give herself the chance. This rehash of the song that made her a teen icon, is past its prime, no matter what help she gets from anyone. Deborah needs to focus on lowering the register of her voice- example "Losin' Myself", and stop whining in her songs. Deborah I love you girl, but get into the 90s. I can definitely seeing you as the next POP queen, but you better hurry you are already 28, and time is a-wasting! This single is fair at best.

Miss Deborah Gibson teams up with Junior Vasquez in the studio to re-create Gibson's staple song "Only In My Dreams". For the late 1990's Deborah and Junior take the song into Euro Dance-Pop territory and what do you know? It works well. By the look of the cd's cover Miss Deborah does her aerobic exercise workouts to this High-NRG remake! Now for the mixes. The club mix is complete and is the best on the disc. The shorter club version with Deb's "rap" comes in second and would have been good for radio. The Rave Vocal Mix takes it a bit serous with it's overall darker production. This mix is okay. Things get a bit repetitious with the four du(m)b mixes which seem to rehash each other over. Perhaps one dub mix for the Club and Rave mixes would have sufficed. Perhaps the purpose of all these short dub mixes is so the dj can create his/her own version using bits from here and there and change things up whenever he/she plays the song in the set.

An OK effort,

This tune, which was originally a big hit for Gibson in 1987 was remixed and rerecorded for it's 10 year anniversary. Although overall I find this CD good for intermixing with other dance remixes on Trinidad-Online.org's internet station underwire. Overall I find Jellybeans beats and mixes to be very formulaic and dull. This is more hackneyed 80's dance remix than techno or electronica which is not bad if Gibson wants to milk 80's nostalgia for all it's worth. There is nothing new here.

What a cool idea....bring back one of the biggest hits of the late 80s and remix it! Deborah's voice truly shines with the dance beats. I hope that one day everyone will realize that again.... Deborah has the makings to be the next Dancing Queen.
