Well, I am Philippe's daughter and I'd just like to say to everyone that this book is amazing and it'd be cool if you bought it because it's a great love story and it is a perfect description of what actually happened in those years of fighting and winning what we deserved. Capucine Vigand

The Power of Conscious and Unconscious Character,
By Dixon Cleveland (Fairfax, Virginia, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Only the Eyes Say Yes (Hardcover)
"Only His Eyes Say Yes" is a truly wonderful saga about a family's struggle for freedom after a man was suddenly "locked in" by a severe stroke. Though it is down-to-earth and humerous, the book reaches deep into many of the tougher unexplored corners of human emotion.I was profoundly struck at the very beginning of the book by the occurrence of and Philippe's recollection of dreams during his two-month coma. Somehow his brain kept functioning during that period, and it even had the wherewithal to begin work on the huge unexpected task of starting a new life. That experience provides us all with a tremendous insight into the powerful workings of the unconscious mind. I simply had no idea that such processes occurred. Carl Jung would have had a scientific field day with that data. And present day psychologists should learn important lessons from it. Thanks, Philippe and Stephane Vigand.

Courage in the face of a great trial,

I enjoyed this book very much. Since our family experienced a horrible car accident nearly two years ago that has left our brilliant, now 11-year-old, daughter fully dependent on caregivers, I could relate to much of what Philippe and Stephane shared. It is most helpful to know we are not alone in our feelings of sadness, anger, and determined hope. I would love to learn more about this courageous family.

Having read this book, we are all reminded what life is really about. As stated, love truly conquers all. The Vigand family should be a lesson to us all, through good times and bad.

that book goes deep down into the heart. It is a very courageous book. Both authors give a lot of them to others. Even in situation much easier to live than theirs you can't stop thinking to them and how they cope with everything. Best book i've read in years.
