Hers and hers alone!,
By Luv2Read "imareader2" (Baton Rouge, LA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Only Hers (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
"Only Hers" is another great one for Francis Ray. "Only Hers" is another episode in the Taggart story. It is the story of Matt Taggart and Shannon Johnson. Matt's heart has been toughened by an unhappy first marriage. Is Shannon woman enough to soften Matt's heart? When Shannon comes to the ranch, it was because of Matt's uncle, Wade, who was a patient of Shannon. Did Wade have an ulterior motive when he left his portion of the ranch to Shannon? Did he somehow know that Shannon was what it took to soften his nephew, Matt's heart? Did Wade realize that it would be Shannon's love, and "only hers" that would ease the heartbreak and renew Matt's faith in women. Well, when you read "Only Hers" you will discover the answers and Wade's intention. "Only Hers" is a story of love and strife, but love wins in the end. "Only Hers" is a great story of two people that are truly made for each other.

She Brought Him To His Knees!,
This review is from: Only Hers (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
Talk about a headache! That's what you can call Matt Taggart, but his's a good headache if you know what I mean, ladies. If you have not seen a man set in his ways then you have not met Matt Taggart. It had to take a women like Shannon to tame that old boy. But I think Shannon enjoyed breaking Matt down. Matt is truly only hers! Know wonder Matt is bestfriends with Daniel Falcon, if you do not know what I am talking about you also need to get Ms Ray other book called "The Heart of the Falcon." Much love to Ms Ray!

MS. RAY, I THOUGHT KANE AND VICTORIA'S STORY (FOREVER YOURS) COULDN'T BE TOUCHED. BUT YOU'VE PROVED THAT WRONG IN THE DYNAMITE LOVE STORY BETWEEN MATT AND SHANNON IN "ONLY HERS." NOT ONLY ARE YOUR LOVE SCENES TO DIE FOR, BUT THE BEAUTIFUL WAY YOUR PLOTS EVOLVE SHOULD BE TAKEN AS A STANDARD FORMAT FOR ALL WOULD BE ROMANCE WRITERS. I CAN'T WAIT TO START DANIEL'S STORY ("HEART OF THE FALCON") AND THEN DOMINIQUE'S. ALL OF WHICH I HAVE. I WISH I COULD GIVE YOU MORE THAN A FIVE STAR RATING!! KEEP ON KEEPING ON!

AND I DO MEAN BAD!! ROMANCE READERS BEWARE!! MS. RAY WILL BLOW YOUR LIBIDO STRAIGHT OFF THE CHARTS!! THIS IS THE FIRST BOOK I READ BY HER, AND AM I GLAD I DID. HER STYLE OF WRITING IS UNIQUE. EVERY WORD, EVERY SENTENCE, EVERY PARAGRAPH CAPTURES YOUR ATTENTION, AND BY THE TIME THE REAL DEAL ERUPTS (MEANING DYNAMITE LOVE SCENES) YOU'RE SO BREATHLESS, YOU HAVE TO TAKE A REST BEFORE CONTINUING ON. FOR THE SISTERS THAT DON'T HAVE A MAN FOR NOW, JUST PUT YOURSELF IN THE ARMS OF MS. RAY'S CHARACTERS AND REJOICE!! I DID, AND I'M STILL SMILING!!. AND TO KEEP ON SMILING, I'VE JUST ORDERED EVERY BOOK I COULD FIND WITH HER NAME ON IT. I FOUND 4. ARE THERE ANY MORE?

Francis Ray is one of if not the best African American arabesque writer ever. In this book Shannon Johnson is in desperate need to heel over the loss of of grandfather. Matt Taggert needs helling to,from his ex-wife who use him and left him bitter towards all women. When Shannon comes to Matt's ranch they wind up partners and fighting the attraction they both feel. ANd it might just be the only way they will ever hell is by being together. But will they figure this out in time?

I really liked this book because of the setting. It took me away from everyday city life. Shannon really taught Matt that women should be treated with respect. I love reading books by Ms. Ray b/c of the way that she portrays her characters positively. I look forward to the upcoming issues. So I urge everyone to who hasn't read this book or any of her other books, to read them. They are all fast-paced and enjoyable.

Another Angry Rancher and (another) Beautiful Women................,
By
This review is from: Only Hers (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
Here we have an angry rancher (his wife left him and he vows to never trust another beautiful woman). Guess who comes into his life......................a beautiful (professional) women. He tries his BEST to keep her at bay (but the more she's around the more he wants her!) She came to the ranch with the intentions of completing a task and returning home. BUT, she's finding herself more and more intrigued with the sexy rancher with the dark and dangerous eyes. The more time they spend together, the more they want each other. He becomes more angry, while she becomes more wanting. Then he publicly humiliates her and those around him want to beat him up (so did I until I read what happened next). He comes to her to apologize and she jumps on him (literally, in a lustful way)! WHAT!?!?!?!?!?Now that's NOT the bad part. The bad part is: this happened in not one but TWO of Francis Ray's books! YES, TWO!!! "Only Hers" with Shannon and Matt and in "One Night with You" with Raven and Duncan. That (storyline) was NOT a good idea the first time. So what in the world would make her do it again (and what's more tragic than that...........I READ BOTH BAD BOOKS!!!) BUT, I bought both from a thrift store and that's where they will return. Okay, I'm done with reading Ms. Ray's books. Yes, I have read more than the two, and I was not okay with the others I read either. Since Ms. Ray used the same storyline, I'm using the same review (for both books) ....................

I loved this book. I liked 'Forever Yours' a little better. Maybe because I liked seeing a patient man seeking the heart of a basicly good but troubled woman. I like books that make my emotions go crazy. In 'Only Hers', I would have cussed Matt out somewhere around chapter seven. Great book Ms. Ray
