Truly Magnificent, May 28, 2001

Kelli Hatfield has just returned to Washington, DC after spending several years with the NYC police force. She decides, this one time, to throw caution to the wind and have a one night stand with the handsome man she meets in a local cop hangout. David McCoy is known as the Casanova Cop. He's stunned to find that the woman he met and bedded the night before is none other than his newly-assigned partner! Kelli tries to smooth things over by telling David she'll act as if that night never happened. David says "nothing doing" as he'd like nothing other than to pick up where they left off. But Kelli knows what would happen should her father find out she was dating the son of his old nemesis and doesn't want to take the risk. However, the heart has a way of washing away all resolve. When a series of sex crimes results in the death of a woman, Kelli volunteers for the task force, thinking not only will she help find the DC Exterminator, as he's become known, but she also has something personal at stake. Her mother was killed by a similar sexual predator years ago - a crime which remains unsolved. Tori Carrington pulls out all the stops in this seductive story of nonstop action and sexy repartee. Although this is #3 of four books in the Magnificent McCoy Men series, the books stands on its own quite nicely and the reader never feels lost. This was a thoroughly enjoyable read from start to finish. It's recommended for anyone wanting a quick, satisfying read, and a darned good story.

Bachelor of the Year, else wise known as Casanova Cop, David McCoy loves the beauties for a night or two, and then leave them behind. That is, until the beautiful Kelli Hatfield captures his attention with her sensuous pool playing. The next morning he shows up for work and to meet his newly assigned partner...one Kelli Hatfield. Despite his determination to protect her from danger, Kelli's daring spirit and sexy moves can't be ignored. Suddenly the local precinct's heart breaker finds himself standing outside Kelli's locked door bribing her overweight pooch with doggie treats. One night stands had never been Kelli's style, but moving to D.C. means change. Kelli decides that the delectable David McCoy would make a marvelous start to her new life. She hadn't unpacked her boxes or put sheets on the bed, but that didn't dampen her ardor for this gorgeous man. Then she shows up for work the next morning and meets her new partner. She is not happy to learn that she slept with him the night before. Nor does she appreciate his attitude about women cops. Soon Kelli accepts a dangerous undercover assignment tracking a serial killer...that is, when she's not fighting her urges to be under the covers with David. Husband/wife writing team Toni and Lori comprise the author Tori Carrington. Their skillful blend of dynamic prose, a truly "guy" point of view, and ever surprising plots guarantee an excellent read certain to satisfy the most demanding romance fan. Carrington's zany characters deliver an extraordinary romance filled with passion, tension and true dramatic flair. Highly recommended.
