The Essence of Childhood,
By Sharon Maher (Bayonne, New Jersey) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Only the Moon and Me (Textbook Binding)
This book truly reveals the simplicity and essence of childhood. On the surface, it is the world through a child's eyes, thoughts, and experiences. It is a first person account that is both wishful and lyrical. It gives you a child's view of the world: what a child thinks happens after he or she goes to bed and what a child wants to do in life. More deeply, this book reveals a witty sense of humor. The child asks only those questions that a child would ask. This simple poetry is also complemented by corresponding photos that bring back childhood memories. Only the Moon and Me can help anyone remember the simplicity of childhood.
