5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING!
What a great message of hope, as well as a call to action! This book answered question that I have had my entire life. However, while reading it, I noticed that it was answering questions that I didn't even know that I had. I've recommended it to everyone I know. I've read it three times now. What is most amazing, in my opinion, is how how peaceful and happy I...

1.0 out of 5 stars Rubbish!!!!
This book smacked of brainwashing for "new agers." The same old, worn out religious message, wrapped up in different packaging. Reads like it was based on "Conversations With God" by Walsch, except his was new and creative. I'd bin it, but have too much respect for the trees from which it was printed. Save your money (I'd like mine back)and buy Wolf's,"The Catchers of...

What is most amazing, in my opinion, is how how peaceful and happy I feel after each read. I think that this book should be required reading for ever student in the world. I am looking to start discussion group on this book. My email is below, if you're interested, drop me a line. I've got several other books that are right in line with The Only Planet of Choice that I'd like to add to the discussion.

Regardless of your position on anything new age or religious (I am neither) this is a must read book, you never know where it might lead. It just might tie in all the bits and peices in your life and help make sense of it all.

However you need to ask yourself if you really want to change for the better? If the answer is yes, you should buy this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Review by Palden Jenkins, compiler, first edition, November 24, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Only Planet of Choice: Essential Briefings from Deep Space (Paperback)
In my work as an editor and author, this book has been the most meaningful I have ever worked with. I have studied channelled material for 30 years, and the substance of this work is, in my view, a cut above most. What impressed me most was the informative detail, and its originality - this isn't standard new age stuff. Many intense one-liners crowd the pages. Many people approach me to ask "when is the next book coming out?". My only answer to this is that the Nine have said enough for us to get on with, and there's no need to say more until we have acted on it. The first edition, with commentaries, is now sadly out-of-print, even though many rate it highly - don't ask me where to get copies! The Nine are not galactic - they're universal, and they have nothing to do with the ascension movement! I believe this book will last decades, and congrats to Gateway Books for keeping it available for years. The thing which is most interesting about this book is that, whatever you believe, and whatever angle you come from, it confirms what you sense and know, or half-know, and it places great emphasis on free will and the integrity and choice of each individual. Whether or not you agree with it, the book is worth a read. BTW: no one else channels the Nine, and don't believe it if they claim to do so! However, the Twenty Four do reach out to many people, and many work with the Nine, consciously or not, on an energy-level. Palden Jenkins. PS! Please e-mail me only on essential, meaningful enquiries! Thanks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely interesting, March 2, 2003
This review is from: The Only Planet of Choice: Essential Briefings from Deep Space (Paperback)
The only way to judge this book is to give it a go, to read it and see whether you think the voice of 'Tom' is as he claims to be. I'm not someone who is regularly persuaded by hocus pocus, but the voice of 'Tom' was quite unlike anything else I have come across. He was consistent, original to us, and the messages he carried were of the highest intelligence and inspirational input. He says himself that you should not be lead by anything that does not agree with your intuition - therefore the only thing to do is try it yourself and form your own opinion.

4.0 out of 5 stars Only From America?, August 30, 2002
This review is from: The Only Planet of Choice: Essential Briefings from Deep Space (Paperback)
There has been a very enthusiastic response to this book in many quarters, however while it is in many ways impressive and quite fascinating I would like to question just how much creedence we should give to this work.
I will admit that the book contains a number of statements that seem more than surface contradictions to my own set of beliefs, and inevitably that colours my review.
I would have to say there are at present more reasons for my viewing the work with suspicion than accepting it.
Lets start with the more concrete reasons:
1. I am aware of having seven chakras, which I have explored and felt at various times. Why doesn`t the book tell us where the two extra chakras are, since this would be a ready way of adding to its sense of veracity? We are told the ninth chakra is at the top of the head, but we already know the crown chakra is there. So where can the other two be placed? If they are in the same line as the others it is hard to say where they would be fitted in. To be more blunt, we do not have nine chakras, we have seven.
2. If earth is the only planet where people have free will, how do civilisations on other planets develop self awareness? What I understand of spiritual progression is that it is an increase in awareness of the self, which is gained so much through the errors we are bound to make, and the lessons we consequently learn, as self determining creatures. Ergo no free will, no spiritual growth. Understood that each soul is stated to spend at least one incarnation on Earth, but that is not enough for the journey back to God.
3.How do we reconcile the statements of Tom that Christ is in all of us and that we should not deify Jesus?
4. The promised landings of 1976 did not occur.

Now some arguably more subjective points:
1. Tom is supportive of nuclear power, which depends on splitting the atom (destroying something made by God), and generating dangerous waste that we can`t dispose of.
2. How could Jesus` death have nullified our collective karmic debts at that point if he had not been the incarnation of God?
3. Of the resurrection, Tom says this was `the first time this had been done.`Just an example of his utterances that sound a bit off-beam and don`t ring true.
4. As is his suggestion of the artificial insemination of the Virgin Mary.
5. Tom gives the planet Earth a central significance in the Universe, as the only planet of free will, the most beautiful, densest etc which is obviously flattering to his listeners.
6. Tom very seldom contradicts any suggestion made by his interviewers. His statements often seem to conform to what they would like to believe.
7. His pauses to consult the remainder of the Council of Nine seem phony.
8. He is extremely poor on specifics and at the end of the book one has only an impression of understanding while actually being clear about very little.
The book has many interesting concepts and has some depth and substance, and much apparent wisdom. There are certainly aspects that give pause for thought and do have a sense of veracity.
However my final verdict regarding Tom has to be , while I am willing to believe he is not of this Earth, that he is not entirely a trustworthy source.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Meaning of Life Abridged, July 24, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Only Planet of Choice: Essential Briefings from Deep Space (Paperback)
The Only Planet of Choice changed and redirected my 14 years of quest for the meaning of our presence in the universe. If the truth is out there, look no further, it is here. I find it a great companion to the Messages From Michael series by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro. "Planet" is to metaphysics what astrophysics and relativity are to science. It deals with the major elements of the arcane structure of the universe. The Michael series is the "quantum physics" of metaphysics, dealing with the progression of the human soul through reeincarnation.

Both "Planet" and the Michael series are channeled and transcribed works. The late Gene Roddenberry (1921-1991) participated in the channeling sessions for "Planet". Notice that the structure of the planetary governments as explained by the Nine is very similar to the Star Trek "Federation of Planets", and that the book's complete title includes "Essential! Briefings from Deep Space". Deep Space and The Nine... Deep Space Nine... It would be great to consider that Gene Roddenberry got inspired by these experiences to create Star Trek to offer humanity the idea that there are friendly brothers and sisters in outer space that wish to see us grow in peace and to come and share their knowledge with us.

Another edition with Palden Jenkins (instead of Mary Bennett) inludes research footnotes and over 45 extra pages.

"The Only Planet of Choice" is a must for the sci-fi fan, the spiritualist and the scientist as well. It unveils secrets and raises questions. Overall a great source of hope for all.

This review is from: The Only Planet of Choice: Essential Briefings from Deep Space (Paperback)
This book has a lot of good channeled info in it , but............some of it does not ring true and there are some contradictions , as with all material, especially channeled, follow your own heart for the truth , but as they say in the book many times "WE are stuck as a race of beings and need outside help" we are holding up the rest of the galaxy and universe by not evolving , it is way past time for us all to evolve !
