This IsThe Real Stuff!,

Jimmy Cobb was known for playing on Miles Davis's Kind of Blue recording. The great sound on that album was due largely to Cobb's brilliant ride cymbal magic. He's back with a superb band made up of Richard Wyands on piano, a well respected New York players "player", Peter Bernstein's top notch guitar, and the solid John Webber on bass. From standards to new songs, this album has a special sound and is truly one of the best I have heard in ages!!!! Enjoy.

Fantastic Album - a Grower,
By
This review is from: Only for the Pure of Heart (Audio CD)
This is one of those wonderful jazz albums that grows on you more and more everytime you listen to it, evidence of the genuine soul, talent and subtle creativity of the musicians. Been listening to it for years and am still pulling it from my collection all the time. Bernstein and Wyands play some top notch straight-ahead stuff on this album and they deserve any recognition they get, in my estimation. And Jimmy Cobb plays some fantastically tasteful stuff as always. All in all an amazing album.
