4.0 out of 5 stars Takes me right back to my high school high times!
If you're looking for the "long" (and seldom played on the radio) versions of a few of these songs, you won't find them here. But if you are after the versions that you heard on the radio during this era, here they are! They couldn't have selected a better mix of artists and songs to bring out those heady, carefree, pot-smoking, girl chasing, car racing...

2.0 out of 5 stars So-So Compilation
Most of these songs are available on other CD collections. With its brutally edited versions of Sugarloaf's "Green Eyed Lady," Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water" and Argent's "Hold Your Head Up," you should probably look elsewhere.

They couldn't have selected a better mix of artists and songs to bring out those heady, carefree, pot-smoking, girl chasing, car racing days before life got serious. If only I could go back for a week or two, knowing what I know now!...

Overall, this is a very nice collection, with a lot of great songs, & the sound quality is very good. Unfortunately "Smoke On The Water" has not 1 but 2 very noticable edits, & clocks in at about 3:57. I have another version of it, which I think is the full one, that runs 5:37. The entire CD is 67:56, so there was no need to use an edited version. Another reviewer wrote "Hold Your Head Up" is also edited. It runs 3:17 on this CD, but I didn't notice it was edited. That reveiwer also said "Green-Eyed Lady" is edited. It's 3:38 on this CD. I believe the LP version is 6:48. Both "Hold Your Head Up" & "Green-Eyed Lady" sound good, even though they are edits. The same can not be said for the hack job on "Smoke On The Water."
