An excellent novel a definite must read.,

This review is from: The Only Sun I Need (Paperback)
It's not everyday that one comes across a well written coming-out story that is able to properly captivate the spirit and essence of Hispanics and the unique and multiple conflicts they face dealing with strong cultural traditions and their evolving sexuality in American society. This multifaceted story serves to provide an insider's look to those that are not Hispanic and to lend courage and understanding to those that are Hispanic as they undergo their own difficult denouement.

A beautifully written book with a timely message.,

This review is from: The Only Sun I Need (Paperback)
I highly recommend The Only Sun I Need. Jorge Luis Seco has written a beautiful book with a timely message. Through the eyes of Jose, the main character, the reader examines universal issues like friendship, family conflict, cultural expectations, spirituality, sexuality and love. Coming to terms with his sexual orientation forces Jose to look closely at the other relationships in his life. As we follow Jose on his journey to self fullfillment, we witness the power of unconditional love.

Not often does a book come along that captures the essence of awakening love and family like Jorge Luis Seco's. Every character's dynamic and passion plays out beautifully with clarity and truthfulness. Mr. Seco's writing is lyrical and haunting and I can't recommend it highly enough.

A moving, realistic tale,

This review is from: The Only Sun I Need (Paperback)
Having just finished reading The Only Sun I Need I was amazed at how true to life the book was. Many of the characters and situations were incredibly real and at times, perhaps, too real which is in no way a detriment to the book but a positive factor. It shows the breadth of knowledge that the author has on the topic. The book is touching and at times incredibly moving. It is alsow quite funny and thankfully all the sexual incidents handled with great dignity. There is no pruient areas in the book unlike others dealing with the same issue. I urge all readers both gay and straight to read this incredibly fine novel.

This review is from: The Only Sun I Need (Paperback)
Although this book is short and easy to read, it is a wonderfully orchestrated novel. It is written with vivid emotions which move the reader to laughter, tears, anger and joy. Its characters are realistic and believeable. You must read this book! Your spirit will be lifted with the short but sweet novel.
