Great story of the Danish jews escape plan from the Nazis in WWII. This is a powerful movie that is affordable and it's nice to see in light of the 'Criterion" movies such as "The Sorrow and the Pity", The Battle of Algiers", "Army of Shadows", and also "Danish Solution", all of them excellent in their own right but rather pricey. Pick this one up if you're interested in escape/resistance themed war stories.

I was not familiar of this true story of how the people of Denmark protected and saved almost all of the 8,000 Jews with only a 24hr notice. They had made a pact with Hitler that while they were under German control the Jews would be left alone. Well this holds for only 3yrs as we know Hitler was not to be trusted and we know what he did with the Jews. The people of Denmark were so brave and acted as one!

It is quite moving. Not as violent as most holocaust accounts. A good introduction for older children. I love stores of how people helped people in WWII taking no thought to the fact they would die also if caught, they just did what was right. This is a film everyone should see.

We must never forget this time in history.

Set in 1940, THE ONLY WAY is the story of a Jewish family's attempt to flee Denmark before the German Army occupies the country. This low-key movie was a co-operative effort of four nations.

Historical note: Danes refused to turn Jews over to the occupying Germans, and some 7,000 were eventually provided safe passage to Sweden.


As of 12/08, "The Only Way" was not available on DVD.

This is worth a view, first time on DVD --- There are trailers of coming attractions in this set --- The VCI release is very clean, crisp and of high quality digitally remastered and restored --- This is one of the greatest escape stories in history, if it were fiction you wouldn't believe it --- But it did happen.

This video gives a poignant view to a lesser known part of WWII. It gives further evidence to the great Nazi plan. This story is a small tribute to the many Europeans who defied the German war machine and their diabolical schemes regarding the Jewish question. The men and women who stood up to German atrocities, at the risk of their own lives, should be immortalize somehow. Good acting.

When I bought The Only Way, I thought it was going to be a powerful movie like Miracle at Midnight. The actors are excellent but this movie is kind of boring and not what I was expecting. I strongly recommend Miracle at Midnight as the best movie showing how the Danish people risked their lives in helping the Jews to escape to Sweden.

Like the movie Hidden in Silence, this is an intense recounting of a true story about the incredible and heroic effort by the Danish people to save their Jewish neighbors & populace from Nazi persecution and the holocaust. Jane Seymour plays a key role in this with great acting. It is very real, well done and well worth it! It tells a little known part of the Nazi conquests and heroism that could only have been the result of true love of neighbor!

This movie also gives an idea of how extensive the Nazi grasp was during WWII by giving us a look at the Nazi occupation in Denmark, so often not even mentioned in this regard.

This story was a bit slow at first but after about 15 minuites into the movie things got going. Jane Seymour did a fine job in her role as a 19 year old woman escaping Nazi conquest of her country.

Thank you for the DVD I 've got very quickly... And absolutely perfect.

This is really a good performance by the very young Jane Seymour, even when the movie is not very long. But it is worth to be seen.
