5.0 out of 5 stars GENUINE LOOK AT ASHTANGA, AYURVEDA, AND TANTRA
I have been practicing Ashtanga yoga for over 10 years and have many
different books about yoga, ayurveda, and tantra. This one in
particular is special, because of the way Carlisi honestly reveals

2.0 out of 5 stars Is it bad karma to criticise a "Guru"?
I bought this book based on all the positive reviews, but having read it I now suspect that the other reviewers' praise is more a reflection of the general positivity of the audience than a true appraisal of the book - which to me came across as hastily written, rambling, and addled by drugs and mysticism.

5.0 out of 5 stars GENUINE LOOK AT ASHTANGA, AYURVEDA, AND TANTRA, July 9, 2008
This review is from: Only Way Out Is In: A Modern Day Yogi's Commentary on the Synergy of Ashtanga Yoga, Ayurveda, and Tantra (Paperback)
I have been practicing Ashtanga yoga for over 10 years and have many
different books about yoga, ayurveda, and tantra. This one in
particular is special, because of the way Carlisi honestly reveals
himself to the reader and weaves his personal experience throughout.
I was surprised to discover a lot of information about these
practices that no one else talks about. He makes his message known
clearly that ashtanga yoga, ayurveda, and tantra are available for
anyone and everyone, at any age and any point in their life. I
couldn't put it down and would recommend it to yogis and non-yogi's
alike.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable and humorous read, even for people new to yoga!, June 17, 2008
This review is from: Only Way Out Is In: A Modern Day Yogi's Commentary on the Synergy of Ashtanga Yoga, Ayurveda, and Tantra (Paperback)
As a beginner to yoga, a friend suggested this book to me. I was reluctant to read it at first, but once I started, I couldn't put it down! Since then, it has turned me on to a lot of new ideas and I am excited to learn more about all three topics.

5.0 out of 5 stars Refreshing new look at Yoga, Ayurveda and Tantra, June 16, 2008
This review is from: Only Way Out Is In: A Modern Day Yogi's Commentary on the Synergy of Ashtanga Yoga, Ayurveda, and Tantra (Paperback)
The Only Way Out Is In, is a refreshing new look at yoga, ayurveda and tantra. It is not a typical dull yoga book. The author shares his own personal insights into the practice and keeps it available for anybody to read and understand. It is an easy read, yet has alot of depth. His life story is also very revealing and intriguing, he's not afraid to share with his readers the challenges he has encountered on and off the mat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Only Way Out is In, August 31, 2008
This review is from: Only Way Out Is In: A Modern Day Yogi's Commentary on the Synergy of Ashtanga Yoga, Ayurveda, and Tantra (Paperback)
For an informative book it was a "page turner". I feel it was well written and interesting. If you are new on to the Yoga scene or a seasoned practiciner this book is for you. Anthony's "Prem's" style of writing on some complex subjects such as "Aruveda" makes it relatively easy and fun to comprehend. I actually passed this book along to my husband who is an "anti-yogi" hoping that it will inspire him. If not that maybe something in the "Tantra" chapter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must read if you want to know a true meaning of yoga, October 14, 2011
This review is from: Only Way Out Is In: A Modern Day Yogi's Commentary on the Synergy of Ashtanga Yoga, Ayurveda, and Tantra (Paperback)
I love this book. It is one of my favorite yoga collection. Few chapters in the beginning are fun and Prem told his yogi stories from his experiences... some parts (from western eyes)...you will be Wow! He talked about the pyramid triangle on how it can generate the energy while you are doing meditation. I also love to reread the 1/3 last part of the books that Prem explained about Ashtanga and 8 limbs in details and from experiences....I keep referring back with my practices. I am totally amazed how Prem put together. Thank you.

Prem's book is a wonderful tale of his experience with Ashtanga Yoga. No dogma, just facts and his opinion which is sometimes irreverrent, but a hoot nonetheless. I recommend this book to all yogis and those intesrested in getting involved in yoga. The chapter on Ayurveda is very informative and how it relates to one's yoga practice. I could read this book many times over and still find some new gem. Get it, read it thoroughly enjoy it.
