Fan-favorite author Neil "Sandman" Gaiman took on the science of lycanthropy with his Only the End of the World Again, a serialized story that was later collected by Oni Press. In it, we meet Lawrence Talbot, an adjuster who has set up shop in Innsmouth, a dark, mysterious town with a rich history of magic and evil. When the local overweight gentleman exclaims that the world is ending and that the instrument of destruction is a werewolf, Talbot is thrown into a turbulent and spooky adventure. What's made even more exciting (for readers, not for Talbot), is that our protagonist may turn out to be the werewolf himself. Filled with Gaiman's trademark genius, the story, as short as it may be, is a monster tale for the ages.

Lawrence Talbot, werewolf, is deep in trouble. The good people of Innsmouth are looking to end the world again, and are more than willing to sacrifice anything or anyone to do so.While the eerie but lumpy artwork is certainly dismissable, Neil Gaiman's story is crisp and entertaining. Even though it lacks the depth of Sandman or the horror of Babycakes, Larry Talbot's story is a fun, five-minute read.

Only The End of the World Again is a very brief supernaturally-themed graphic novel (more of a "short story" really) by Sandman/Coraline author Neil Gaiman. It isn't particularly substantial, but it was quite fun to read. The art is globular and cartoonish with wavy outlines contributing to a a very deranged sense of perspective (more like Squiggle-Vision than the art on the cover!). The plot involves a werewolf and a kraken.

the tentacles, man, LOOK AT THE TENTACLES! his distortions of face and form, too, seem to me a perfect fit for 'eerie' horror, and homages numerous classics in the horror comic genre as well - basil wolverton, dick briefer... the story, adapted from an original short by neil gaiman, moves briskly and holds up well compared to the original. greta stuff, a fun read, and a nice add to any gaiman or lovecraft collection!
