About the Artist

Singer/songwriter/producer davidmahr has been creating and performing popular synthpop/dance music since the mid 1990s. His first two CDs, 1997's No Drama! and 1999's Lost & Found, featured the hit songs “I Could Be So Fortunate,” “Little Boy Blue,” “Out of Control” and “Days After Night.”

Inspired by various favorite 80s synthpop bands (Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Erasure, Eurythmics and Thompson Twins), davidmahr’s songs are filled with telling lyrics and beautiful melodies underlined by bouncy synth-based hooks, danceable bass lines, and layers of electronic music textures.

davidmahr's popular music has been featured on several compilations, including Sibilance #1 and #2 from Trip Records and most recently on HeyDay records sampler CD Glittering Clouds - Autumn in New York. His original synthpop Christmas track "(It's Gonna Be) A Snow-White Christmas" was released exclusively online and hit MP3.com's Top 40 Europop charts within 2 days of release. "More Each Day," taken from the Lost & Found CD has recently been released exclusively online and his new CD single "Only You," is due out on June 12th.

With Only You, David Mahr once again beckons us back to the dance floor. And who can resist? The title track, a wonderfully upbeat cover, is better than coffee! David shows his versatility as a songwriter and vocalist on the originals Sugar Candi and Century, where he takes his well-crafted music into new territory. You can't help but love this CD from the moment "Only You," the first track, kicks in. The positive energy is infectious and carries through to the final synthesized beat. davidmahr captures the essence of my favorite 80s music and gives it an update that makes it sound as current as tomorrow's news. If you like to close your eyes and let the music move you, this is the disk for you.
