This album starts off harmlessly enough, with tongue-in-cheek bravado and promises of "conquering" other bands. The real fun starts with "maybe Fuzzy," a genuinely funny song about the loss of creativity and lack of inspiration. Songs move from strength to strength, with topics ranging from Don Ho, to college buddies sharing an apartment in New York, to the charm of southern europe, to the Minnesota State Fair, to the luddite anthem and album centerpiece, "Where's my Tahiti."
While the band is technically adequate, no one would ever describe these guys as musically gifted. That shouldn't dissuade you from buying the album. Quite the contrary, the overall production is refreshingly free of artifice. It really sounds like someone had a lot of fun writing and recording this record, and isn't that what music is really all about?

This LP kicks maximum behind; so much so that I get irritated with ...reviews that say otherwise. Wit and rock - that's what we have here, and if anyone can drum up a better combo than that, I'm all ears.

This CD has one of the freshest sounds I've heard in a while. The band plays a lot of different styles of music. Each song and each style achieves a level of listenablity that is refreshing. To summarize, refreshingly fresh, freshingly refreshing.
