although at first listen jonny five might seem to be just another underground mc, careful listening will prove otherwise. this cd is fresher than the maki you ate last night. if you dont like this cd, your brain doesn't work. if that is the case, im sure the new p diddy cd is right up your alley.

5.0 out of 5 stars a neutron bomb explosion under your bottom, November 25, 2001

the beats ripped my head off

previously adequate money supplies become inadequate in the face of the huge new demand unleashed by this fine album.

these futurists predict the end of prosperity, the evanescence of wealth, a new depression, runaway inflation, global warming for socialism, and a new ice age of capital.[....]

5.0 out of 5 stars Change more than channels, October 5, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Onomatopoeia (Audio CD)
Probably the cleverest, most socially conscious rhyming I have ever heard, delivered over some seriously dope tracks cooked up by talented multi-instrumentalist Yahktoe and friends, who use everything from the usual suspects to cello, harmonica, and brass. Everything about this release is a step ahead, down to the artwork. And even as Jonny 5 flows like the Aunt Jemima on your short stack, you can't help but think of how much ass he would kick on Jeopardy. Don't miss this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Buy this cd if your a Flobots fan., March 1, 2008
This review is from: Onomatopeia (Audio CD)
I am a huge fan of Flobots. I think that jonny5 has a wonderful voice. With that said. This is a great album for an addition to your Flobots collection. If you have ever been to a Flobots show they do a song about DARE, which is awesome. One of the tracks on this CD has that song in it. So overall it's a good CD. However my problem with this CD is that there is too much layering and effects. This would be a gem if it were a little simpler. What I mean is simple beats and straight hip-hop would be great. Instead you get very complex beats with many effects in the vocals that it gets distracting from the lyricism of jonny5. The lyrics on this CD are simply amazing but sometime a little hard to hear because there is too much going on with the track

This is the future of hip-hop and rap right here. If you miss this album, you aren't a true fan of the genre.
