I looked at several of the reviews for the "Ontel GOP2-MC18/6 Gopher 2 Pick Up and Reaching Tool". It had several high and low ratings. Most were high. The lows were a result of the suction cups falling off on the grabbing end due to the screw loosen. I took a chance presuming that I could use some lock tite to resolve that little problem. Unfortunately even though I pre-lock-tited the screw, one suction cup fell off after an hour of use. After looking at it I found the plastic inside of the cup where the screw inserts had broken, even with the light stuff I was picking up off the ground. I would not recommend this product.

I've had two hip operations within a year and this tool has proven its value over and over. The other day I sat on it and it broke at the bend point. I've got some super glue I think will fix it, but I went to a large chain hardware store and bought a new no name grabber for the same price. It doesn't compare to the gopher. The handle is rough edges and cuts into your palm, the grip on objects isn't as strong, and there is no lever to lock the pinchers. Need one of these? Buy the goper!

At 74 years of age, this gadget does all my stretching for things for me, saves painful bending over to pick up the newspaper and whatever else that gets scattered about, even turning light switches or fans off & on without having to fight my way out of a big fat comfortable recliner while watching TV. Too many other uses to list.

I bought two of these, and the screw that held the suction cup tips on kept coming off, causing the tips to come off. I would screw them back on as tight as I dared (afraid of stripping them), and it would keep happening. Eventually the screw and/or tip would get lost and they became worthless. I will not buy these agon.

This is a very good tool. The only problem is the rubber tips have a tendency to unscrew and fall off. I glue them on with rubber glue. Other than that, I've picked up pennies with it.

I have a lemon tree, and it has always been difficult to pick the lemons that grow in the middle of the tree. I got one of those fruit-pickers, a kind of basket device on the end of a stick, but the basket was too big to get through the thick branches inside the tree. I got the Gopher 2 to see whether it would work better.

I found that the Gopher 2 is the perfect tool for this job! The device is narrow enough to fit through thick branches or to reach the higher branches without necessarily having to stand on a stool or ladder. The squeeze is gentle enough to secure the fruit, but not damage it. I would think that it would be gentle enough even for peaches. Within five minutes I had two dozen lemons that I could not get to before.

The Gopher 2 is simple to operate. It consists of a squeeze handle that needs little force to draw the suction-cup ends together. There also a little switch to lock the device in the closed position and a button that collapses the device in two (to about half a metre in length) so that it takes up less space for storage, as in a drawer.

I am disabled and confined to a wheelchair. It is very difficult for me to reach stuff on the floor or more than n arm's length away. But the gopher has changed that. I have purchased several of them and keep them in various places around the house. I use at least one set daily (at least once, if not more often). I don't know what I did before, but I love them and would highly recommend them to anyone who has difficulty in raching!!!!!

This product is great - and very well made - for the price. The kids are constantly getting things behind furniture and in hard-to-reach places. I can just get this tool and get any little toy from behind a cabinet or under a dresser. Just keep it away from the kids - they love to play with it, too. :)

What a handy tool! I take it with me on the riding mower and don't have to get off to pick up stuff that I don't want to run over! About the same time, my husband got a buldged disc in his back and it's been a life saver for him! It really works well. It's strong enough to pick up most things and can be pretty precise! I'll probably get another one as a gift.

I keep mine in the laundry room. Great for reaching the socks that escape behind the washer/dryer. Many uses in the home, high and low.
