The Blue Scholars really surprised me with this album. It's a totally different feel from their more old-school rap style with their self-titled and Bayani album. But they deliver with OOF! something that's really chilled out, relaxed, and just fun, without compromising any substance. All in all, a great album to own and to play whenever you want to just relax.

I have been listening to Blue Scholars for a while now, and I rarely skip any of their songs when I have my MP3 on shuffle. This is a very good album and it should be rated based on the fact that it is an EP. It may only be 6 songs and 6 instrumentals but it is priced that way too. That being said more songs would have been a welcome addition.
This is kind of a new direction for the Scholars as it is not as melancholy or overtly political as some of their past albums. You can really tell that they made this while spending time in Hawaii because it is more upbeat and optimistic sounding than anything I've heard from them before. Both Sabzi and Geologic perform well on this album, though I think Sabzi shines a little brighter on this one. If you can't get into anything that doesn't make you want to protest the WTO and march in the streets then you might want to pass. But if you are a fan of the Scholars and can embrace the personal growth of artists you like than I would definitely recommend this. Geologic is insightful as always and Sabzi is getting better and better, I can't wait for the next LP.

I have always liked independent rap more than most mainstream rappers because, like Blue Scholars, independent rappers hardly ever drop a bad album. First let me stress that this is not one of the 808 albums printed. All of those albums were sent to Caffe Vita in Seattle. I was not able to get one that way so I am assuming that all 808 albums are owned by people who bought on the first day. One reason I can tell is because the album comes in a jewel case and not one of the cardboard fold up cases that the other Blue Scholars albums come in. This album is very good and I enjoyed it alot. I liked every single track on it. The only thing is that the second six songs are the instramentals of the first six. I dont want to say that this is the Blue Scholars worst album (excluding the many digital only eps) But I would have liked some more songs on this album. This album has a little differnt style than any other album. This album was made about Hawaii for Hawaii and in Hawaii. They sing about stuff that they have never sung about before. Still beats are nice and a definent buy if you like Blue Scholars.
