This is an exceptional album for a relatively new group. It has the all the earmarks to show these guys have paid their dues in the business and are ready for this breakout album. You will do yourself a favor to listen and you will be hooked as I was.

This is a great CD!! All the songs are worth listening to. Alot of times you buy a CD and a song or two is really good, but this one is wonderful. Every song is worth listening to and you want to listen to them over and over again!!! Especially "Nevermind Her Hips" and "Picked Apart" to name a couple. They need to set some dates in Houston!! I have told everyone to get this CD. This band, I think, will make it big!!!

After hearing and reading about VirginWool, Could not wait to buy the CD. Well I can not turn it off. Seems at work and in my car I am continually listening to the CD. I just cant turn it off!! Cant Wait to see what VirginWool has in store for us next. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!

I just got this CD and I'm so glad I did! It was amazing, I wasn't expecting anything like it....I've seen them live and they blew me away both times, but this CD does it a 3rd!

I suggest this CD to everyone and anyone! They have inspired me so much!! I hope they come back to Charlotte soon!

I am a retired musician that did most of my work out of Nashville, TN in the 70's. I became very much aware of how to recognize "hits". Since that time, my interest has been focused on the direction that popular music has taken and I have listened to many of these new idioms. VIRGINWOOL's new CD, "OPEN HEART SURGERY" has created a set of tremendous songs, presented by a really tight, strong band. The lyrics are unique and the melodies are the kind that you find yourself humming days after you've heard them. VIRGINWOOL can be catergorized in more than one market. The groove is infectuous and could easily go heavy or straight ahead pop. Check it out - it's really tight stuff! Mark, Drums - Oak Ridge Boys Band - 1969-81

It goes from one song to the next...all kick-azz riffs and lyrics that any man with a broken heart can relate to. Unrequited love can kill you, but songs like these can only bring you back from the dead. Virginwool has an outstanding gig, a live show that is filled with heart-felt emotions that a lot of men don't have the courage to feel. But you will feel the emotion when you see them play together. Brett tearing up the skins, Adam on bass, right there with him all the way. Mike and Gar cranking out effect processed guitar riffs, and Jordan grabbing at his shirt in a vain attempt to rip the pain from his soul as he heart-achingly sings. Their album "Open-Heart Surgery" sounds like it will be a HUGE HIT! If you like Verve, U2, Radiohead and Smashing Pumpkins...I strongly suggest you be among the first of millions to go out and buy this disc.

I just got my most recent edition of CMJ New Music magazine, and this band had a song on the CD - "Never Mind Her Hips". It's an excellent song, the best on that CD (which also had Everclear's latest...). So I got "Open Heart Surgery" today, and I must say, it is awesome. The disk opens with the CMJ single, but it doesn't let up from there. The first five songs on the disk could easily garner heavy airplay. It's tough to say who this band sounds like, because they seem to have created their own niche, but I guarantee if you're a fan of good, jangly, guitar driven bands, with vocals and lyrics full of angst, this is a CD you will want to add to your collection. By the way, my favorites are U2, the Verve, Radiohead, Travis, Coldplay, Oasis (in the early days), Sunny Day Real Estate, Smashing Pumpkins, and Kent, among others. I don't want to say virginwool sound like any of these, but this CD has earned a spot comfortably on my rack next to them! Get it and find out for yourself.

This new band is really great! Virginwool is destined to do some great things in the music world and I am grateful to have become aware of these talented artists early. Since buying the new "Open Heart Surgery" CD I have been playing it continuously. I just can't seem to get enough of it! I cannot wait for their next release!

This debut release from Virginwool is awesome. I can't take it out of my CD player. From my personal favorite, "Better For You" to the upbeat rhythm of "Goodman Vibe", each track will keep you wanting to hear more. My advice to all... buy, and then enjoy this album! You won't regret it!
